Good morning, WA2K audience.

EuroGeorge, missed Stranger on the Shore. Love that one.

edgar, don't know Ballad of Bill Joe by Jerry Lee. Thanks for the introduction.

hbg, Danny Kaye's version of Aida's March was hilarious. He was such a talented man and funny as well.

George Hamilton 's Abilene was great as was the Fab Four's Goodnight.

wm, Bad to Me; Little Children and From a Window I really enjoyed, especially From a Window.

I must have missed euroGeorge's classic, so I'll play it again.

Hey, Brit. The Jazz Crusader's song with Patti is one that I don't know. Patti must have listened to Ella doing her scat vocalizing. Thanks for the introduction, London.

Osso, Glad you appreciate Andrea as I do.

Incidentally, that should have been conga not congo.

Just realized the Blood and Sand was about bull fighting. Tyrone Power did a version of it.

Today is George Gershwin's birthday, so here is a tribute to that fabulous composer.

and a real funny for today. A Conga line by the animals.

Hurry back, edgar. Don't overdo today.

Hope I didn't miss anyone. If so, I know you'll forgive me.

Welcome back, Rock. That's my favorite by Gershwin.

Yep, those animals know how to dance. Razz I thought they were funny.

@edgarblythe,
I love that song, edgar, although I don't know the Larks, they are great.

Bet you know what this is from.

"...the Hebrew children from the firey furnace as the good book do declare...

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were three young Jews, of royal or noble birth from the Kingdom of Judah, who were inducted into Babylon when Jerusalem was occupied by the Babylonians in 606/605 BCE, under the campaign of Nebuchadnezzar II, during the first deportation of the Israelites. These three young men were very dear to Daniel, whose Chaldean name was Belteshazzar, a peer who spoke highly of the three to the King whenever opportunity afforded itself, so that they could also have honorable positions in the Province of Babylon.

In Christianity and Judaism, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego are characters in the biblical Hebrew book of Daniel Chapters 1 – 3, known for their exclusive devotion to their God. In particular, they are known for being saved by divine intervention from the Babylonian execution of being burned alive in a fiery furnace.

A birthday girl, yawl.

@wmwcjr,
Hi WM, I'm glad you enjoyed Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody, beautiful music.
If you get the chance and like to watch a movie I'd certainly recommend
"Somewhere in Time" a great film and a wonderful soundtrack.

John Barry & Roger Williams.

I was actually looking for a different version of Shadrack, but when I found that one I was happy.
I like Olivia on several songs. She was good in Grease.

Hi Miss Letty, Ed & all WA2K pop pickers.
A Happy birthday to George Gershwin who I note unfortunately
died at the very young age of 38. I enjoyed both pieces by him,
especially Rhapsody in Blue.
Loved Animals by Floyd, a classic album.
Really liked The Larks & Wilma Lee & Stoney Cooper, great stuff.
Oh and a Happy Birthday to the gorgeous Aussie Olivia Neutron Bomb.
Miss Letty Shocked that was some video of animals doing the,? what was it the
Bongo, the Dongo, the Wongo, because it wasn't the Congo. Laughing Laughing Razz

Only joking and sticking with Animals.

euroGeorge, Welcome back and we are delighted with your good Irish humor. Thanks for your comments as well.

edgar, That one by Ricky Martin is where my doctor is from, as you might remember. I noticed that he did Johnny Doughboy Found a Rose in Ireland, but couldn't find it on the old tube.

euro,Great one by Buffy, incidentally, but although I couldn't get your House of the Rising Sun to play, edgar knows that I like ToTo's version better.

Today is Julie London's birthday, so here is a tribute to her.

wm, Night in Rusty Armor by Peter and Gordon was great. Thanks, buddy.

Ah, Our Brit is gone and missed Pink Floyd. Sleep well, dear friend. The Days of Wine and Roses is a great song, but a sad movie.

Couldn't get your Hot Chip Over and Over to play, Irish. Don't know them but I listened on my end and they were really good.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs. First a great sould man who is homeless. First some info.

Sly Stone has fallen on seriously hard times.

The funk and soul legend behind such classic songs as "Family Affair" and "Everyday People," the Sly and the Family Stone frontman is now homeless, living in a white camper van parked in L.A.'s rough Crenshaw neighborhood.

"I like my small camper," the reclusive, flamboyant singer, now 68, tells the New York Post. "I just do not want to return to a fixed home. I cannot stand being in one place. I must keep moving."

Four years ago, the icon (real name: Sylvester Stewart) resided in a sprawling "compound" in the Napa Valley featuring a vineyard and multiple cars out front. At the height of his fame, Stone lived in a 5,432-square foot Beverly Hills mansion that once belonged to John Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas.

Now Sly

and here's a lovely lady singing Tender is the Night. If you will listen, she does it in English as well.

Good to have London and Dublin with us on WA2K today.

From Letty with love and a bit of delight
