@edgarblythe,
edgar, that was fantastic. Hmmm. Must be Greek. Your song from Guys and Dolls with old Blue Eyes and Deano plus the opera guy, was fabulous as well as the sad video of James Dean; however, the Cat Came Back by Sonny James gave me a big smile. Thank you again for commenting on the music. I was a bit under the weather last evening, but your PD/producer is feeling a bit better.

I do want to thank everyone for their Saturday songs.

wm for his Moody Blues

hbg for his great Irish melodies

Good to see our Brit back. I was almost certain that he was going to find a new girl in the neighborhood. Wonder if he's in to something good. Razz

Inspired by our edgar, I decided to do a bit of Shakespeare for the day, followed by a birthday guy.

To me, MacBeth was one of the bards' best.

Now, a birthday guy that I don't know but enjoy. Hope our hbg likes him as well.

Enjoyed Macbeth with Ian McKellen (Gandalf) Miss Letty.
Ed, who am I to argue with the great Frank Sinatra but the
Beatles had so many great songs I'd be hard pressed to pick
a favourite. Enjoyed Gisele MacKenzie, crazy Razz

I do really like this one.... The Beatles - A Day In The Life

Yeah. What does Frank know. I like dozens of songs better than Something. Which is not to speak ill of a great song. I listen to Day in the Life very loud.

Welcome back, Irish, and I enjoyed all the Fab Four songs. Dear Elvis. Like so many talented people, he died too soon. I notice that Michael Jackson's doctor is now being investigated and on trial.

Thanks to you and our edgar for the comments that you make on what we play here.

"....boy the songs Glenn Miller played; songs that made the hit parade..."

Yep, those were the days. I used to pronounce her name as GEEZelle. Razz

Today is Christopher Reeve's birthday. He deserves a tribute. What a horrible accident and I, of course, remember it quite well because he was in the medical college of University of Virginia.

@Letty,
Great tribute to Christopher Reeve Miss Letty, it was an awful
shame what happened to him, but how he coped with it was inspirational.
I loved him in the movie "Somewhere in Time".

edgar, I remember that Tin Man song by America. Love it, and thanks for the memory.

Irish, I had forgotten that movie with Christopher and Jane. Fabulous theme, too. I need to check out the particulars of the plot.

For some reason, this song popped into my head.

@edgarblythe,
Smokey Mountain Rain was a nice song Ed with a little
sad story to it. He never said whether he found her or not. Crying or Very sad

I'm going to the flicks to see "The Killer Elite", so I'll catch
yawl later and I'll leave you with the Yardbirds -- Heart Full Of Soul.

edgar, I remember Don Gibson best for Lonesome Me. Great guy; great voice. I love Smokey Mountain Rain, buddy

Irish, I don't know Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars either, but it was lovely and the visuals, awesome.

Thanks to both you and edgar for the comments.

More synchronicity, yawl. Today is William Faulkner's birthday, and for a while he was writer in residence at The University of Virginia. His prize winning book The Sound and The Fury was based on MacBeth's tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow. Wow!

euroGeorge. I checked out Somewhere in Time and it involved a time warp. He died but his soul returned to Jane.

Today is Michael Douglas birthday, so here is a tribute to him.

It took me a while to warm up to Michael Douglas. He is good, but lacks that heroic mein owned by his father. These days I like several of his films.
