That's the 'live' version from an appearance at Carnegie Hall. I have been a Belafonte fan since 1957.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I loved both of your songs. You sent me searching again.

John David Anderson (born December 13, 1954, in Orlando, Florida, is an American country music artist with a successful career that has lasted more than 30 years. Starting in 1977 with the release of his first single, "I've Got a Feelin' (Somebody's Been Stealin')", Anderson has charted more than 40 singles on the Billboard country music charts, including five Number Ones: "Wild and Blue", "Swingin'", "Black Sheep", "Straight Tequila Night", and "Money in the Bank". He has also recorded twenty-two studio albums on several labels. His newest album, Bigger Hands, was released on June 2009, on the Country Crossing label.

I don't recall your having played that one before. It was haunting.

Now the song.

Also love Leonard Cohen's The Window. He sang that one so well, and the visuals were spell binding.

I hope you don't mind if I return to the Indian songs, Texas.

The Trail of Tears.

I think that most of us recognize that there were good Indians and bad Indians, just as there were bad and good in ever ethnic group

Oops, hbg, back later to acknowledge

@hamburgboy,
a very accurate old mining video .
........................................................
i almost became a mining apprentice upon graduating from middle-school in 1948 Shocked
those working in the mines were given higher food rations - an obvious attraction for a young fellow - but my mother put her foot down - her sons were not going to go underground .
so being a good boy i became an accounting apprentice in the port of hamburg ... and 8 years later left for canada .

edgar, thanks again for your comments on what we play here. The Zombie's time of the Season was great.

hbg, I am amazed at your knowledge of miners. Especially liked this group
http://www.gospely.com/thumbs/69112.jpg

recognized the Saints Go Marching in; William Tell's Overture, and MacArthur Park

The Grimethorpe Colliery Band is probably the world's most famous colliery band with an international reputation for excellence on both the the concert and contest stage. Featured on film, TV and radio, the band is justifiably proud of its history and achievements.

Hope I get this right. Gluck Auf der Steiger was awesome.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First one that most of our contributors missed, and it's worth hearing again.

Another birthday boy.

Good morning from Florida, WA2K folks.

hbg, Kotaro Ka Do Kura's The Song of the Flea was funny. Thanks for the early morning smile.

Hey, jcboy. Gnarls Barkley's Crazy was great as well.

Fil, are you Portuguese? If so, Brazil or Portugal.

Cancao De Mar was lovely, but my favorite selection was O Mare e Tu by Andrea and Dulce. Love Andrea the Italian with Dulce a Portuguese lady.

Two songs for the early morning. First, a birthday boy.

Now, another flea song.

@Letty,
Liked the Otis Redding tribute, letty. Jose Feliciano is one heck of a guitar player and sometimes a good vocalist. Spanish Flea - I like all of Herb Alpert's instrumentals.

hbg, loved that German group playing Morgensonne. It did wake me up; also Cat Stevens' Morning Has Broken. I need to go for a walk on the beach, I guess. Keeping an eye on Maria (tropical storm)

edgar, thanks again for your comments and welcome to our new radio folks. Frankie Laine's Moonlight Gambler was great as well.

Well, I'll let George say it for me.
