@edgarblythe,
Good morning WA2K folks and edgar.

Thanks for being our spokesman, Texas. Really enjoyed Earl Grant's Til the End of Time, and Sixty Minute Man was one that I do know, cause we used to dance to that song when we were kids. For a while, it was banned by certain radio stations, but we didn't understand about that stuff then. Also appreciate your comments on what we play here.

A thumbs up to all of our contributors.

Today is Buddy Holly's birthday, and I never knew him until Don McLean wrote American Pie. "...the day the music died..."

Two songs for the morning here in Florida. Both, a tribute to Buddy.

@eurocelticyankee,
Hey, Irish, same to you. Love that version of Blinded by the Light. The lyrics were fascinating. I thought at first it was a religious thing, but obviously not.

Thinking of the ocean today and a new tropical storm is clustering. Hope Maria stays where she is and fizzles out.

One by the Commodores.

Will await our edgar's comment on Buddy Holly.

@Letty,
Fogerty does a pretty good tribute to Buddy Holly.
The tribute of ten songs merely teases my appetite to hear the man.

At Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's Space Launch Complex 17B in Florida, these spacecraft technicians may be the last persons to glimpse NASA's twin Gravity Recovery and Interior Laboratory, or GRAIL, spacecraft as the sections of the Delta payload fairing close around them. The fairing will protect the spacecraft from the impact of aerodynamic pressure and heating during ascent and will be jettisoned once they are outside the Earth's atmosphere. Launch aboard a United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket from Pad 17B is scheduled for Sept. 8. The spacecraft will fly in tandem orbits around the moon for several months to measure its gravity field. GRAIL's primary science objectives include determining the structure of the lunar interior, from crust to core, and understanding of the thermal evolution of the moon

Meanwhile,I'm adding tracks that I couldn't easily find on Youtube.Any excuse to post pics of blonds with great voices....

Blinded By the Light and Sail on are two great songs.

Paul Anka specifically wrote It Doesn't Matter Anymore for Buddy Holly. It was Buddy's last record.

edgar, Oh Boy is one of my favorites by Buddy. Thanks for the comments, buddy. Paul Anka was a more creative man than I ever imagined. Didn't know that was Buddy's last record.

Hey, Brit. I was just reading about the fact that many of the astronauts are becoming ill because of their flights, etc. My back yard is a mess since the golf course went under, but I most certainly will be watching and listening.

Love Jane Morgan's Heartache by the Numbers. She is a lovely lady with a great voice.

Thinking of the Commodores again. Here is one by Lionel Richie.

@edgarblythe,
Didn't know Candle in the Rain by Melanie, edgar. The only one that I recall by her was Brand New Key, but I went searching and found this one.

@Letty,
Look What They've done to my Song is one of Melanie's best. She said a few times that she did not want to be known for Brand New Key. But, if she felt that way she should not have written and recorded it.

@edgarblythe,
I agree, edgar. That song had a double meaning, too.

Had no idea that Jerry Lee did What'd I Say. I only remember it by Ray. He did a great job, however.

Today is Gloria Gaynor's birthday.(don't worry; not going to play I Will Survive)

@jcboy,
jcboy you sent me searching.

"Missing" is a song written and recorded by British pop music duo Everything but the Girl. The song was released as a single from the band's 1994 album Amplified Heart. "Missing" is Everything But The Girl's best-known success and it is credited with revitalising the duo's musical career and changing the team's music to a successful electronic music style.

Don't know that song, buddy, but it was good. Thanks for the introduction.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, one by Ray Charles and I had no idea that he did this one.

Now, an instrumental of Romberg's Serenade replete with lyrics.

Overhead, the moon is beaming
White as blossoms on the bough
Nothing is heard but the song of a bird
Filling all the air with dreaming
Would my heart but still it's beating
Only you can tell it how, beloved
From your window give me greeting
Hear my eternal vow

Soft in the trees lies the echo of my longing
While all around you my dreams of rapture throng
My soul, my joy, my hope, my fear
Your heart must tell you that I am near
List from above while I pour out my love
For you know through my life you are love'd
Oh, hear my longing cry, oh, love me or I die

Overhead, the moon is beaming
White as blossoms on the bough
Nothing is heard but the song of a bird
Filling all the air with dreaming
Would my heart but still it's beating
Only you can tell it how, beloved
From your window give me greeting
I swear my eternal love

So nice to see Dublin and London with us today.

From Letty with love to the world
