@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the comment, edgar. I only know one song by Buddy Clark and that is Linda. My older sister was dating a guy named Buddy at the time. Like Midnight Blue by him, however.

Here's one to match, Texas.

@edgarblythe,
It's the only song that I ever her heard sing as well, edgar.

Never heard Ballad of a Teenage Queen by the man in black. He sounded great on that one.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with Schubert. What a composer. I will follow it with a very loose English translation.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpA0l2WB86E&feature=related

Softly goes, my song's entreaty, Thro' the night to thee.
In the silent woods I wait thee, come, my love, to me.

Tree tops slender sigh and whisper in the moon light here.
In the moon light here.
No unfriendly ear shall listen, darling have no fear.
Darling have no fear.

Hark! The nightingales are singing, Ah, they plead with thee!
With their notes so sweet, so ringing, they would plead for me.
Well they know a lover's longing, Know the pain of love.
Know the pain of love.
With their silver toned voices tender hearts they move.
Tender hearts they move.

Ah, lets thine, as well, grow tender.
Sweetheart why so coy?
Anxious fever'd, I await thee.
Come and bring me joy
Come and bring me joy

So nice to have our Brit and Britess with us today. Wandel as well. In my mind I can see his little Annie holding on to a small alligator.

I hope I didn't miss anyone. Just glad that all my equipment is working.

From Letty with love to everyone.

Good morning from Florida, WA2K folks.

edgar, thanks again for your comments, and I really loved your goodnight song. I thought at first you might be talking about ice cream, so you sent me searching again.

Sherbet (a.k.a. The Sherbs and Highway) was one of the most prominent and successful Australian rock bands of the 1970s. Their biggest singles were "Summer Love" (1975) and "Howzat" (1976), both reaching number one in Australia. "Howzat" was also a top 5 hit in the UK. Though the band's success in the U.S. was more limited, "Howzat" was a #61 hit in America, and under the name The Sherbs they also hit #61 in 1981 with the single "I Have The Skill". Throughout the 1970s, the group was managed by Roger Davies.

Great song and group, Texas.

The theme from The Man with the Golden Arm was good as well. If I recall correctly, that was a movie starring old blue eyes.

hbg, I most certainly know Brahms Lullaby as I used to sing that to my kids. The verses change according to the situation. Welcome back to you as well.

Hey, Miz Izz. What a funny team. Love their imitation of the striptease for breakfast and Bring Me Sunshine was a delightful one as well.

Well, there's our Barry with a great parody by Brian Setzer. Cat On a Hot Tin Roof refers to the hep cats, of course. Love it, Brit.

Today is Freddy Mercury's birthday, and I think most of us know his background, but here's a memory tribute to the man.

edgar, thanks for commenting on what we play here. I don't know Reg Owen's Manhattan Spiritual, but it was great and thanks for the introduction. Of course, we recall Linda's Stone Ponies, Texas.

wandel, I only recall one little skit by Bob and Ray. It had to do with one being a woman and the man side commented on her stockings being wrinkled and she replied: I'm not wearing any stockings. I need to check them out. Thanks for the memory.

jcboy, I know Madonna, but not that Ray of Light by her. Queen's Crazy Little Thing Called Love was another that I don't know, but it was really good.

How about a couple of "work" songs.

First, one written by Nat Adderly.

Now, The Chain Gang by Sam.

@edgarblythe,
Another Oops, edgar. Sorry about the pony goof. You made a slight one as well. I'm certain that you didn't mean Nat and Adderly but Sam and Nat. Razz

Love I'll follow the Sun by The Fab Four, buddy.

Well, they follow the sun, and this guy appears in the light. Today is Michael Keaton's birthday. I think he did a great job with Batman and several other movies.
