I have been off line much of the day. Got something in my eye. I seem to be improving now. Here is one of my all time favorite records.

@edgarblythe,
I'd trade my left nut to have his singing voice. Those low notes....that silky smoothness. His and Sam Cooke's vocies..still 'Send Me'. Wait ... and Jackie Wilson's...and....etc.

Great to see and hear the music on WA2K.

edgar, thanks for your comments to everyone.

Best of Friends by Mimi Farina was great, but once again you sent me on a search.

Mimi Baez Fariña (born Margarita Mimi Baez, April 30, 1945 – July 18, 2001) was a singer-songwriter and activist, the youngest of three daughters to a Scottish mother and Mexican-American physicist Albert Baez (her next-older sister is singer and activist Joan Baez)

Great discovery about her sister Joan.

You know, of course, how I love Brook Benton and Just a Matter of Time was great.

Osso, thanks for your comments, too.

Well, my goodness, jcboy. I'm with edgar. Glad that our youth of today remember old Blue Eyes. That's Life is a great one. So you like Bette as well? Marvelous. Stay With me was a good one by that versatile lady.

edgar, I just found out that Dame Vera Lynn did I'll Be Seeing you, too, and she is still with us. Great Sinatra version.

Going to say goodnight a bit early as I have been helping the kid from Orlando get packed up and off.

A birthday boy that I truly appreciate.

I only know that one by Nat. Here are the lyrics.

Gee, it's great after bein' out late
Walkin' my baby back home
Arm in arm over meadow and farm
Walkin' my baby back home

We go 'long harmonizing a song
Or I'm recitin' a poem
Owls go by and they give me the eye
Walkin' my baby back home

We stop for a while, she gives me a smile
And snuggles her head on my chest
We start in to pet and that's when I get
Her talcum all over my vest

After I kinda straighten my tie
She has to borrow my comb
Once kiss then I continue again
Walkin' my baby back home

So nice to have Canada, London, and Dublin with us today or yesterday. I have forgotten. Oops, missed your contribution Ragman. Will comment tomorrow.

From Letty with love to everyone, everywhere.

Okay I’m going to post it and you will hate it, I really dislike heavy metal but Enter Sandman by Metallic is good and one of the only heavy metal songs I actually like. Razz

I like the Bett Midler and Donald O'Conner. I admit to not much liking Metallica. My son was into heavy metal and head banging for a few years, so I am familiar with Metallica.

Good early morning, WA2K folks.

Remember, we PLAY not post songs.

Yep, Ragman, what edgar said.

jpboy, the intro to that Metallica was good, but I'm not in to that stuff much. Thanks anyway.

edgar, once again appreciate your comments.

Jackie's My Heart at They Sweet voice was great. Here's Saint-Saens version.

Glad you asked, ragman. It is almost normal. Just an occasional reminder, almost like a minute piece of gravel. But it quits within a second or so. Probably a scratch.

@edgarblythe,
I can see you have an "eye" for funny comparisons, edgar. Love Jolene by Dolly. Thanks for that memory, Texas.

Well, today is Charlie "Bird" Parker's birthday, and since I have been to Birdland, here is a great one by him, replete with lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1bWqViY5F4&feature=related

Summertime,
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high

Your daddy's rich
And your mamma's good lookin'
So hush little baby
Don't you cry

One of these mornings
You're going to rise up singing
Then you'll spread your wings
And you'll take to the sky

But till that morning
There's a'nothing can harm you
With daddy and mamma standing by

Summertime,
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high

Your daddy's rich
And your mamma's good lookin'
So hush little baby
Don't you cry

@edgarblythe,
I use this liquid stuff for my dry-eye condition but I know that artificial tears can help get you through that irritation phase of this minor eye scratch. Bausch & Lomb makes this liquid called Soothe XP. It has some extra coating action that makes all the difference.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for your comment about "the bird man", edgar.

I truly LOVE Sam Cooke, and You Send Me is great.

I love this guy, too.

He's known as The Fifth Beatle.
