edgar, to me that one by Billy is simply telling certain people to leave their decadent lives and get back to where they once belong.

Ah, I love Obla De Obla Da by the Fab Four, buddy. I appreciate your comments.

Hey, jcboy. A Little Less conversation by "the king" is one that I didn't know. Thanks for the introduction. It's a good one.

Today is Ingrid Bergman's birthday, and this lovely lady and great actress deserves a tribute.

I am an Elvis fan, as letty already knows. I read a short biography of Ingrid Bergman. I only knew of her from a few films. She was a complex, very talented person.

Before I left California I stopped by Forest Lawn to visit my parents graves. I then walked in the Mausoleum where Karen Carpenter was laid to rest only to find they had moved her body to an undisclosed location.

Good morning from here in Florida, WA2K folks.

edgar, Didn't know I'm Left You're Right She's Gone by "the king". Good one.

Take Five by Dave, I think everyone knows.

Wow! Trip Switch was one I didn't know. The visuals were weird, but the entire video left me with a feeling of surprise. Thanks for the introduction.

jcboy, Amazing about Karen. Why would they relocate her? That dear girl will always be remembered. Love Yesterday Once More.

Here's a birthday girl, but first some info.

Peggy Lipton was born in New York City, the daughter of Rita Hetty (née Benson), an artist, and Harold Lipton, a corporate lawyer. Her paternal grandparents were Russian Jews; her mother was born in Dublin, Ireland, to British Jewish parents whose families had immigrated from Eastern Europe. Lipton was raised in Lawrence, Nassau County, New York on Long Island with her brothers, Robert, an actor, and Kenneth. She attended Lawrence Junior High School and the Professional Children's School.

Lipton was married to music industry mogul Quincy Jones from 1974 to 1990, with whom she has two daughters, Rashida Jones, and Kidada Jones.

Now a tribute followed by Quincy Jones' jazz.

@Letty,
To the Dee Jay on shift: I'd like to dedicate
this little birthday ditty by the Beatles to Mrs. Nomad.

Mentally add a decade to the song's theme, though.
Turned...sigh... 74 today.

@neko nomad,
neko, Welcome back. Love When I'm 64 by the Fab Four. Happy Birthday Mrs. Nomad.

Here's a funny one by the Fab Four(two of them now). I've been to Radio City Music Hall, buddy.

Happy birthday, neko nomad.
I used to watch The Mod Squad. I liked the actors, but Sam and I made fun of the scripts quite a lot.
Good Quincy.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comments, edgar. I don't even remember The Mod Squad; I was just interested that she married Quincy Jones, buddy.

I never saw Vaughn Monroe in one single movie either, but he has a fantastic voice. Singing Guns was really good. I've seen the "Fab Two" do better ones, but since I saw the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall when I was in New York, it sorta touched a memory, Texas.

Another legend's birthday is today.

First, some info.

Frederick Martin "Fred" MacMurray (August 30, 1908 – November 5, 1991) was an American actor who appeared in more than 100 movies and a successful television series during a career that spanned nearly a half-century, from 1930 to the 1970s.

MacMurray is well known for his role in the 1944 film noir Double Indemnity directed by Billy Wilder, which he starred in with Barbara Stanwyck. Later in his career, he became better known as the paternal Steve Douglas, the widowed patriarch on My Three Sons, which ran on ABC from 1960–1965 and then on CBS from 1965–1972.

Now, the tribute.

@edgarblythe,
Fred was the Zhazam man? I had no idea, edgar.

Don't know The Texas Tornados, buddy, but I love Hispanic music. That Little Bit Better Than Nada was great.

Here's one that I remember, but do not know the group singing it.

Fred never played Captain Marvel, but the cartoonists inventing the character consciously gave him Fred's face.

Never heard of the daughters of the Purple Sage, but I like their song.

@edgarblythe,
Oh, okay. I understand about Fred now, edgar.

Loved that song Amy, but you sent me searching again.

Pure Prairie League is an American country-rock band whose roots began between 1964 and 1969 in Waverly, Ohio with Craig Fuller, George Powell, Tom McGrail, Jim Caughlan and John David Call. In 1970 McGrail named the band after a 19th century temperance union mentioned in the 1939 film Dodge City. The band has had a long run, active from the 1970s through the late 1980s and was revived in the late 1990s for a time, then again in 2004.

Remember Ray Bolger? He was The Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz.

Here's a version of his song by "old blue eyes"
