Randy Crawford - Almaz.

She only smiles
He only tells her
that she's the flowers of wind and spring
In all her splendor sweetly surrendering
The love that innocence brings

Almaz, pure and simple
Born in a world where love survives
men will want her
'cause life don't haunt her
Almaz, you lucky lucky thing

Now I watch closely
And I watch wholly
I can't imagine love so rare
She's young and tender
But will life bend her
I look around is she everywhere

Almaz, pure and simple
Born in a world where love survives
men will want her
'cause life don't haunt her
Almaz, You lucky lucky thing

He throws her kisses
She shares his wishes
I'm sure he's keen without a doubt
With love so captive
So solely captive
I ask if I could play the part

Almaz, pure and simple
Born in a world where love survives
men will want her
'cause life don't haunt her
Almaz, You lucky lucky thing
Almaz, You lucky lucky thing
Almaz, You lucky thing
You
You

Hey, Brit. Hurry back, and thanks for your comments. Love Bruce Johnson's Disney Girls. Hard to believe that Doris Day is still singing. Enjoyed her in the movie, The Man Who Knew Too Much. Still like James Stewart, too.

You hurry back as well, Texas. Yep, Brook got it right in his song Mother Nature; Father Time. Appreciate your comments as well.

Today is Mel Tillis' birthday. (glad to know that someone else has spelling problems)

Some people may not be aware that the only time Mel Tillis does not stutter is when he sings.

@edgarblythe,
It is interesting about Mel's stuttering, edgar. It has been noted that people who talk to a mirror won't stutter.

Don't know Jan Howard and Bill Anderson, but Born to Be With You was great. Thanks for the introduction.

Dear Lady Day wonders why she was born.

@edgarblythe,
Don't know Jesse Belvin, edgar, but he was great with his song Guess Who.

You sent me searching again.

Jesse Lorenzo Belvin (December 15, 1932 – February 6, 1960) was an American R&B singer, pianist and songwriter popular in the 1950s, whose success was cut short by his death in a car crash aged 27.

Yep, Lady Day still sounds good.

Today is Matthew Henson's birthday, but I couldn't find the proper tribute to him.

A memory jog.

Robert Peary and Matthew Henson opened up the gateway to the North Pole. In 1909 they became the first people to make it to the North Pole. Robert Peary, who led many expeditions to the Pole and Greenland, chose Matthew Henson to be his assistant. Henson, an African-American, also opened up exploration for his race.

Speaking of which, here's a great one about that challenged area.

@edgarblythe,
My word, edgar, I had no idea that Terry Bradshaw could sing. Hank Williams did my favorite version of that one.

The last football game I went to was many years ago between UVA and Virginia Tech.

Do remember this song, however. (Cole Porter, of course)

edgar, you sent me searching again.

Cowboy Bebop (カウボーイビバップ, Kaubōi Bibappu?) is a 1998 Japanese anime series directed by Shinichirō Watanabe, written by Keiko Nobumoto, and produced by Sunrise. Its 26 episodes ("sessions") comprise a complete storyline: set in 2071, the series follows the adventures, misadventures and tragedies of a group of bounty hunters, or "cowboys", traveling on their spaceship, the Bebop. The series explores several concepts involving philosophy, including existentialism, loneliness, and existential ennui.

That song was captivating.

jcboy, Ah, the little sparrow. Love Edith Piaf.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs by Al Jolson. Just like Mel Brooks, he broke all the rules.

First a cradle song.

Now, another by that fabulous man.

Nice to have our Brit with us today. Hope he's ok.

From Letty with love to all of you.
