@edgarblythe,
My favorite by Thoreau.

As he was very ill and in bed his auntie came to him and said:

Henry, Have you made your peace with God?

Henry, Why auntie. I didn't know that we had quarreled

As you know, I love Little Richard, edgar. Don't know True Fine Mamma but it was great.

Guess whose birthday is today, Texas?

I'm certain that our edgar will be back shortly, but it is time for me to say goodnight.

Today is Oscar Hammerstein II's birthday and he wrote the lovely lyrics to this one by Tony.

I saw Van Cliburn once in Los Angeles. It was 1964. The music he chose for that night was avante guard, progressive or something. Don't really know. I was impressed with his skill, but didn't like any of the music. But I do like him and your selections are good ones.

Good morning, yawl. Still dark here.

edgar, loved your goodnight songs and your comments. Initials by Hair is one that I don't know, as well as The Yardbirds' I'm a Man. Thanks for the introduction. Sleep well and hurry back.

Hey, Brit. Wow! Love Luther's Searching. I can identify with that fantastic singer. How about "a talking picture".

Two songs for the early morning.

First, inspired by the setting moon, one by Diana.

Now, a most unusual presentation as it features symphony and rock together. Love it!

Ray Lamontagne - Empty.

She lifts her skirt up to her knees,
walks through the garden rows with her bare feet, laughing.
I never learned to count my blessings,
I choose instead to dwell in my disasters.
I walk on down the hill,
through grass, grown tall and brown
and still its hard somehow to let go of my pain.
On past the busted back of that old and rusted Cadillac
that sinks into this field, collecting rain.
Will I always feel this way?
So empty, so estranged.

And of these cut-throat busted sunsets,
these cold and damp white mornings
I have grown weary.
If through my cracked and dusted dime-store lips
I spoke these words out loud would no one hear me?
Lay your blouse across the chair,
let fall the flowers from from your hair
and kiss me with that country mouth, so plain.
Outside, the rain is tapping on the leaves,
to me it sounds like they're applauding us the the quiet love we made.
Will I always feel this way?
So empty, so estranged.

Well I looked my demons in the eyes,
laid bare my chest, said "Do your best, destroy me.
You see, I've been to hell and back so many times,
I must admit you kind of bore me."
There's a lot of things that can kill a man,
there's a lot of ways to die,
listen, some already did that walked beside me.
There's a lot of things I don't understand,
why so many people lie.
Its the hurt I hide that fuels the fire inside me.
Will I always feel this way?
So empty, so estranged.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, That was the most beautiful song by Harry that I have ever heard. Those lyrics must be Jewish.

The Night We Called it a Day is a great jazz song, Texas.

Don't You Forget about Me was from The Breakfast Club.

I miss twilight in Florida, so I thought that I would remind myself of it. The Platters have done this , but I thought it would be nice to hear an instrumental version.

First, Billy. Then the lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0nLVbXOyzs

Now the lyrics.

Heavenly shades of night are falling, it's twilight time
Out of the mist your voice is calling, 'tis twilight time
When purple-colored curtains mark the end of day
I'll hear you, my dear, at twilight time

Deepening shadows gather splendor as day is done
Fingers of night will soon surrender the setting sun
I count the moments darling till you're here with me
Together at last at twilight time

Here, in the afterglow of day, we keep our rendezvous beneath the blue
And, in the same and sweet old way I fall in love again as I did then

Deep in the dark your kiss will thrill me like days of old
Lighting the spark of love that fills me with dreams untold
Each day I pray for evening just to be with you
Together at last at twilight time

Twilight Time by the Platters is one of my top favorite records. Billy Vaughn does a credible job. I like a number of records by him. Did not know until yesterday he was once a member of this singing group:

Enya - Only Time.

Who can say
where the road goes
where the day flows
only time
And who can say
if your love grows
as your heart chose
only time

Who can say
why your heart sighs
as your love flies
only time
And who can say
why your heart cries
when your love lies
only time

Who can say
when the roads meet
that love might be
in your heart
And who can say
when the day sleeps
if the night keeps
all your heart

Night keeps all your heart

Who can say
if your love grows
as your heart chose
only time
And who can say
where the road goes
where the day flows
only time

Who knows - only time
Who knows - only time

Good early morning, WA2K folks. Got a wonderful sleep last evening and was awakened by a setting moon again.

edgar, thanks again for your comments, and your goodnight song by The Clancy Brothers was great.

Welcome back, Brit. Love We Are the World. What a great tribute to Africa. Enya's Only Time was fantastic. Yes, London. Who knows where we're going. We appreciate your comments as well.

Once again, a memory of satt fs.

From South Africa.
