Good morning. Great selections this AM, people. We Are the World is a personal favorite. The zoo song is pretty unusual. Here is my favorite song about Africa. It addressed apartheid, so is a bit dated. But the humanity behind the writing and production stays relevant, in my mind.

Hey, Brit. Love those Hang drums and the guitar. Summertime and the living is easy. Know all those lyrics. You hurry back, too.

edgar, Didn't know Capetown by Harry. Great one. Don't work too hard, buddy.

Here's one by Mr. "laid back" Como inspired by Mr. and Mrs. edgar.

What a fantastic voice Perry possessed.

@edgarblythe,
At least we don't have to play Get a Job, Texas.

According to Setanta, Today is Bastille Day. How about another view by Willie and Tchaikovsky.

First Willie.

I remember Napoleon in Bob and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Funny guy. That was before he was defeated, however.

Bonaparte was married to Josephine, at one time.

@edgarblythe,
Didn't see that adventure, edgar. I was trying to find Marlon Brando as Napoleon, but no trailer.

Jerry Lee's My Girl Josephine was typical of his style. Liked that one.

Did you see Titanic with Leonardo? I will never forget this song.

Here is the trailer, letty.

I have seen Titanic several times. I plan to see it again when the 3D theatrical release begins.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Thanks for the trailer. How strange because I don't recall one bit of that movie.

I have a pendant of that gem that she dropped in the ocean, Texas. It's smaller, however. Don't know about 3D .

Time for me to say goodnight, and strangely I inspired myself with the picture that I put on the picture connection discussion.

Can you name any hit song that's been broadcast more
than Del Shannon's Runaway? We're
treated to it whenever we go to our favorite restaurant.
And the video's been well-watched --292,733 and counting.

Can't have Tom without Jerry....

Paul Simon - Duncan.

Couple in the next room
Bound to win a prize
They've been goin' at it all night long
Well I'm tryin' to get some sleep
But these motel walls are cheap
Lincoln Duncan is my name
And here's my song, here's my song

My father was a fisherman
My mama was a fisherman's friend
And I was born in the boredom and the chowder
So when I reached my prime
I left my home in the maritimes
Headed down the turnpike for new england, sweet new england

Holes in my confidence
Holes in the knees of my jeans
It's left without a penny in my pocket
Oo-o wee i's about as
Destituted as a kid could be
And I wish I wore a ring
So I could hock it I'd like to hock it

A young girl in a parking lot
Was preaching to a crowd
Singin sacred songs and
Reading from the bible
Well I told her I was lost
And she told me all about the pentecost
And I seen that girl as the road to my survi-ival

Just later on the very same night
When I crept to her tent with a flashlight
And my long years of innocence ended
Well she took me to the woods sayin'
"here comes somethin' and it feels so good!"
And just like a dog I was befriended
I was befriended

Oh, oh, what a night
Oh what a garden of delight
Even now that sweet memory lingers
I was playin' my guitar
Lying underneath the stars
Just thankin' the lord for my fingers
For my fingers

edgar, loved your goodnight song. Darby O Gill was great. Never heard that one before.

Also, your good morning song by Jim Croce is one of my favorites.

Welcome back, neco nomad. Really like My Little Runaway. Thanks for the memory.

Hey, Brit. Sorry that you have to work tonight, but you left us with great music.

I adore El Condor Pasa by Paul. Didn't know Duncan by the man, but it was both ribald and wonderful.

Porky was a great way to say, "See ya later."

Here's a great one by Manhattan Transfer, yawl.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, They were a fabulous group, right? Loved Tuxedo Junction by them.

Here's a wonderful surprise. Today is this lady's birthday, and in searching for a tribute to lovely Linda, I came across this marvelous duo.
