Nowhere Man - part of a trilogy of songs (in my mind):

Nowhere Man - Beatles
Epistle to Dippy - Donovan
Ballad of a Thin Man - Bob Dylan

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Thanks for that info on Dylan, and your New York experience. Speaking of your comment onTessla, I raised his shade and his coil descended and shut down my studio pc. Razz

Also appreciate your explanation of those famous folks' songs and lyrics.

neco nomad, Here There and Everywhere is great.

Wandel, welcome back. Well, you sent me searching, buddy, and I came up with this information.

David Bromberg (born September 19, 1945, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. Bromberg has an eclectic style, playing bluegrass, blues, folk, jazz, country and western, and rock & roll equally well. He is known for his quirky, humorous lyrics, and the ability to play rhythm and lead guitar at the same time. In 2008, he was nominated for a Grammy Award.

Wow! What a talent. Testify was great. I noticed that he as well as Dylan did Don't Let Your Deal Go Down. My dad sang that and I learned it to this same melody but with different words.

@Letty,
A true story about David Bromberg is that Phoebe Snow sought him out so that he could tutor her. David Bromberg spent many years in Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks to wandel for the info on that great talent Dave, edgar, and I laughed at your Bumpersticker Song.

Also enjoyed Sometime by Gene Thomas; however, I don't recall him.

John Lee Hooker and Fats are two of my favorite performers. Thanks for the memory, Texas.

Thinking of Dustin Hoffman today and what a great actor he was. Another memory jog from Midnight Cowboy.

Here's a funny one by Dustman and Bette.

@edgarblythe,
Can't beat that duo, edgar.

Wow! Southern Nights by Johnny Mathis? Fantastic. I've only heard that one by Glenn Campbell. Great version, Texas.

Well, it's confirmed. Today is Beatles Day in Liverpool.

Beverley Knight - Apparently Nothin'

A popularity of invasion
Handed down through centuries
A force of arms called gentle persuasion
What have we learned from history?

Apparently nothin' (Apparently nothin', nothin' apparently)
Apparently nothin' (Apparently nothin', nothin' apparently)
Apparently nothin' (Apparently nothin', nothin' apparently)
Apparently nothin' (Apparently nothin', nothin' apparently)

Human worth is so inexpensive
Compared to gold, the root of most wars
Subtract the tears from countless offences
What is left but guns and scars

Apparently nothin' (Apparently nothin', nothin' apparently)
Apparently nothin' (Apparently nothin', nothin' apparently)
Apparently nothin' (Apparently nothin', nothin' apparently)
Apparently nothin' (Apparently nothin', nothin' apparently)

Well, as for me, I'm gonna keep lovin'
'Cause it's the only sane thing to do
'Cause I'm not into pushin' and shovin'
No confrontation, what have you?

Apparently nothin' (Apparently nothin', nothin' apparently)
Apparently nothin' (Apparently nothin', nothin' apparently)
Apparently nothin' (Apparently nothin', nothin' apparently)
Apparently nothin' (Apparently nothin', nothin' apparently)

(Ooohooo...)

I ain't trying to rule your mind
A conscious observer trying to find
A place on earth where they heed the signs
Beware of conflicts that ruin mankind

If you want things more better
Withstand the tides of the bad weather
The struggle thrives when we all gather
Down at the bank of the soul river, yeah

(Apparently nothin', nothin' apparently) (Ooohooo)
(Apparently nothin', nothin' apparently)
(Apparently nothin', nothin' apparently)

See the light
Show yo' light
'Cause this little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine

Everywhere I go (Apparently nothin')
I'm gonna let my light glow (Nothin' apparently)
Everywhere I go (Apparently nothin')
I'm gonna let my light glow (Nothin' apparently)

(Apparently nothin') Anytime y'all (Nothin' apparently), ohoho
(Apparently nothin') Anytime
(Nothin' apparently) Anytime y'all, anytime y'all
Anytime y'all (Apparently nothin')

You got to see the light (Nothin' apparently)
You got to see the light (Apparently nothin')

Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, Love wonderful Stevie and I always will. Hurry back, Texas. Thanks again for your comment.

Welcome back, Brit. Fantastic song by Beverly Knight. Apparently Nuthin' is one that I don't know. Thanks for the introduction.

Also agree with you on Playing for Change, and Three Little Birds by that group is fantastic.

Two songs for the morning.

First, a birthday boy.

I like to learn about the background on performers, so here is a bit of info on Yul.

Yul Brynner (Russian: Юлий Борисович Бринер, Yuliy Borisovich Briner; July 11, 1920 – October 10, 1985) was a Russian-born American actor of stage and film. He was best known for his portrayal of Mongkut, king of Siam, in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The King and I, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Actor for the film version; he also played the role more than 4,500 times on stage. He is also remembered as Rameses II in the 1956 Cecil B. DeMille film The Ten Commandments, General Bounine in Anastasia and Chris Adams in The Magnificent Seven. Brynner was noted for his distinctive voice and for his shaven head, which he maintained as a personal trademark long after adopting it for his initial role in The King and I. He was also a photographer and the author of two books.

Now, a Reggae man who died too young.
