@eurocelticyankee,
I have only given you one side of Buffy. She is also a protest/folk singer.

@edgarblythe,
I just listened to her again and I'm sure she'd grow on you,
she has got a lovely voice.
For some strange reason she reminded me of this lady. (finally got it)
Mary Hopkin.

@edgarblythe,
She has that same inflection in her singing voice as Dolly Parton.
Pretty unique voice, I see shes a native American, so no surprise
she sings protest songs. I just listened to another couple of her tracks,
"Smack Water Jack" and "You know how to turn on those lights".
Really good, I notice as well shes still touring and has just been in
Europe although she didn't play Ireland. Fair play to her.

Another great lady.

@edgarblythe,
I Cried a Tear is a nice song, not familiar with Lavern Baker
though, first time hearing her, sweet voice.
I was checking out Buffy's website and had a listen to her new
album, "Running for the drum". It's very good. Here's a couple
of tracks I liked.

My first time for hearing that Buffy material. I would go if she came to Houston.
Another artist I love who is now dead is author of many hit songs. I don't think she personally recorded any hits though.

@edgarblythe,
I've never heard Laura sing before but I recognise a couple
of her songs. She died very young, 50, a real shame.
Well it's half past midnight here Ed so I'll say good night and
leave you with a couple of songs. Oh and thanks for the intro
to the wonderful Buffy.

Adele - Someone Like You.

First, allow me to thank all of you who have contributed to our cyber radio station and kept us on the air. Sorry that I cannot comment on each one, but I have a studio full of folks who have been doing their own celebrating.

Happy Birthday, America.

http://www.effectspecialist.com/imagesSP/AnimatedFireworks1.gif

and for the beginning of the day here and a memory of fireworks at the beach, I shall do two songs for our listeners.

First, a funny from Hugh Laurie.

Now, a great quartet.

@edgarblythe,
A Happy 4th of July to all the Yankee Doodle Dandy's out there.

Hi Miss Letty, now you take it easy with the wine. Razz
What a quartet Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart, Joe Cocker & Eric Clapton,
it doesn't get much better than that.
Donald O'Connor was great, a multi-talented man. Good video to go with
your Yankee Doodle Dandy Ed.
Here's Jimmy, see!.
