Good afternoon, WA2K folks.

Sorry that I missed the Saturday Night Songs from JPB and our Irish and London friends.

Hey, Brit. Alain Clark's Father and Friend was wonderful.

Irish, Daddy's Home was tender, and Christy Moore's marvelous guitar tribute was perfect. Viva Le Christy. Thanks for the info and the history that it tells us, too.

edgar, so glad that you are all right. Thanks for the comments, and Johnny's Lucky Old Sun and Etta's Sunday kind of love just right for today.

Just looking at a photo of my dad holding a string of trout that gave me a smile.

When I was just a wee thing and he and I drove to our ancestral home, we would sing this one, only much better than this guy does.

Also thinking about Cole Porter and what a great performer and composer he was. So, here is a tribute and a memory to him.

Happy Father's day to all who qualify.

@edgarblythe,
Great one by Bobby, edgar, and thanks again for your comment. That one was banned as well. I'll bet you know why.

Another great one by Mr. Porter.

They can ban a good work, but, in the end, it is the censor that turns out foolish.
I don't know Karen Morrow, but the song is really good.
A change of pace -

@edgarblythe,
You're right about censorship, edgar. I didn't know Karen either, but I simply liked that song.

Love Jerry Lee's May the Circle Be Unbroken. Gospel music is fantastic.

Here's a different version of Life's Railway to Heaven. The Oak Ridge Boys do a slower and a capella version.

What a wonderful mix of music we have had today on WA2K radio.

Always nice to have Dublin and London with us.

How about a bit of fantasy for the evening.

Garden of Dreams will be my goodnight song.

The Oakridge Boys are spectacular, if they get the right song.
Apparently, the vocalist is someone named Stephanie on your dream song, letty.

@edgarblythe,
Hurry back, Texas. Loved I'll See You in my Dreams by Pat. Thanks again for your comment on the Ridge Boys.

Never heard Something's Burning by Kenny. Great one, Texas.

At first, I thought you meant...

Scotland's Burning
Scotland's Burning
Look yonder
Look yonder
Fire fire fire fire
Pour water pour water.

Two songs for the morning, yawl.

First, Jim

@eurocelticyankee,
Lang Lang is great, no? Wish I could see him, Irish.

Ah, how I love that song from The Mission. I read the book but can't recall seeing the movie. Morricone wrote many beautiful themes for movies.

Here's the English translation for Nella Fantasia. (that oboe is captivating)

In my fantasy

In my fantasy I see a just world,
Where everyone lives in peace and honesty.
I dream of souls that are always free
Like the clouds that float
Full of humanity in the depths of the soul.

In my fantasy I see a bright world
Where each night there is less darkness.
I dream of spirits that are always free,
Like the clouds that float

In my fantasy exists a warm wind,
That blows into the city, like a friend.
I dream of souls that are always free,
Like the clouds that float
Full of humanity in the depths of the soul.

I did the trailer of The Mission a while back. I recall Robert De Niro in the lead role. I think George ob 1 is a Jesuit.

Love this song by Sam Cooke, yawl.

Great song by Jim, letty.
Something primal about King Kong - touches us deeply to be so often incarnated on film.

@edgarblythe,
Brown Skin Girl was delightful by Harry, edgar, and thanks again for your comments.

Stumbled across this by accident and I was captivated.

I recall our audience at a gig kept requesting this and our drummer jumped up and yelled:

We're not a bird band. Razz
