Ah, I love the mix today on WA2K.

Somehow, I can't hear the lyrics on what we play here.

edgar, Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody was great, as was the Alan Alda tribute.

Irish, I love Fleewood Mac but couldn't understand the lyrics, so here they are.

(just the chorus)

[Chorus]
Thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
Say women they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you'll know

Now here I go again, I see the crystal visions
I keep my visions to myself
It's only me
Who wants to wrap around your dreams and
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
Dreams of loneliness
Like a heartbeat...drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering what you had
And what you lost
What you had
And what you lost

[Chorus]
Thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
Say women they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you'll know

Speaking of which, Winston Churchill bulldog named thor was in my yard and we had big thunder boomers.

Saying goodnight a bit early, but it's a must.

First, another Queen

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L8-FTvSVxs&feature=related

Now the Corrs with another dream song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wi047NoufcA&feature=related

Hope that I didn't miss anyone as it's dark and raining.

Glad to have our Dublin man and our London man with us today.

From Letty with love to the world

Morning Ms Letty,Ed and all WA2K peeps. Here's one for the Emma Peel (Diana Rigg) fans....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_cflaahb84&feature=related
Al Wilson - You Did It For Me.

The Avengers is a 1960s British television series in the Spy-Fi genre set in cold war Britain. The Avengers focused on John Steed (Patrick Macnee) and his succession of investigative partners working as government agents for the "Ministry". As the series evolved Steed's later partners were high profile, stylish women: Cathy Gale (Honor Blackman), followed by Emma Peel (Diana Rigg), and later Tara King (Linda Thorson). Later episodes increasingly incorporated elements of science fiction and fantasy, parody and British eccentricity.

You'll probably know Al Wilson from this track....

The Rolling Stones - The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man.

Well I'm waiting at the bus stop in downtown L.A.
Well I'm waiting at the bus stop in downtown L.A.
But I'd much rather be on a boardwalk on Broadway

Well I'm sitting here thinkin' just how sharp I am
Well I'm sitting here thinkin' just how sharp I am
I'm an under assistant west coast promo man

Well I promo groups when they come into town
Well I promo groups when they come into town
Well they laugh at my toupee, they're sure to put me down

Well I'm sitting here thinking just how sharp I am
Yeah I'm sitting here thinking just how sharp I am
I'm a necessary talent behind every rock and roll band

Yeah, I'm sharp
I'm really, really sharp
I sure do earn my pay
Sitting on the beach every day, yeah
I'm real real sharp, yes I am
I got a Corvette and a seersucker suit
Yes I have

Here comes the bus, uh oh
I though I had a dime
Where's my dime
I know I have a dime somewhere
I'm pretty sure........

Rufus Thomas - Walking The Dog.

Babys back, dressed in black.
Silver buttons all down her back.
High, low, tipsy toe.
She broke a needle and she can't sew.

Walkin' the dog,
Jes' a-walkin' her dog.
If you don't know how to do it,
I'll show you how the walk the dog.
[Whistle.]
C'mon now, c'mon, c'mon.

Asked her Mama for fifteen cents.
To see a elephant jump the fence.
He jumped so high he touched the sky,
Never got back till the fourth of July.

Walkin' the dog,
Jes' a-walkin' her dog.
If you don't know how to do it,
I'll show you how the walk the dog.
[Whistle.]
C'mon now, c'mon, c'mon.

[Spoken:]
Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
Tell me, how does your garden grow?
You got silver bells and you got cockle shells,
[Sung:]
Pretty maids all in a row.

Walkin' the dog,
Jes' a-walkin' the dog.
If you don't know how to do it,
I show you how the walk the dog.
[Whistle.]
C'mon now, c'mon, c'mon.

Ohh, oh-oh,
Jest, a-jes', a-jes' a-walking'
Jest, a-jes', a-jes' a-walking'
Jest, a-jes', a-jes' a-walking'
Oh yeah.
If you don't know how to do it,
I'll show you how the walk the dog.
Ohh, oh-oh-woh.
J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-jes' a-walkin'.
J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-jes' a-walkin'.
[Fade.]

edgar, loved your goodnight song by Moon.

Hey, Brit. You're on a roll today. More synchronicity. Today is Sir Paul's birthday, and the Snake song I played on edgar's songs that tell stories.

I remember The Avengers, and I really liked that one by "Emma Peel"

Spider to the fly reminded me of...

Won't you come in to my parlor said the spider to the fly.

Also enjoyed Rufus' Walking the Dog.

Lots of nursery rhymes worked into your songs. Believe it or not, they have some merit in reality.

From Sir Paul and Stevie, yawl.

Ragman, Welcome back. Love your White Bird. I remember flower power, buddy.

edgar, Don't know that one by Melanie. Brand New Key is the only one that I know by her. Thanks for the introduction, Texas.

I bet you know the English lyrics to this one, buddy.

Another white bird (dove)

First, a bit of info on the lady.

Paloma San Basilio (born November 22, 1950 in Madrid, Spain) is a Spanish singer. Although she was born in Madrid, at the age of 6 months the family moved to Sevilla ( Andalucia region of Spain), where she was raised till the age of 8. Her family then moved to Lugo in Galicia.

She starred in the Spanish language premiere production of Andrew Lloyd Weber's Evita at Teatro Monumental in Madrid. The show later transferred to Barcelona and certain cities in Latin America. She represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 1985 in Gothenburg, Sweden, with the ballad "La fiesta terminó" (The party ended), and finished 14th. She also starred in highly acclaimed Madrid productions of Man of La Mancha and My Fair Lady, and Victor/Victoria.

She recorded several tracks with Plácido Domingo and a particularly notable duet version of 'Soledad' by Emilio Jose.

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band - Jungleland (live in Hyde Park)
His solo starts around 04:22.

The rangers had a homecoming in harlem late last night
And the magic rat drove his sleek machine over the jersey state line
Barefoot girl sitting on the hood of a dodge
Drinking warm beer in the soft summer rain
The rat pulls into town rolls up his pants
Together they take a stab at romance and disappear down flamingo lane

Well the maximum lawman run down flamingo chasing the rat and the barefoot
Girl
And the kids round here look just like shadows always quiet, holding hands
From the churches to the jails tonight all is silence in the world
As we take our stand down in jungleland

The midnight gangs assembled and picked a rendezvous for the night
They'll meet `neath that giant exxon sign that brings this fair city light
Man there's an opera out on the turnpike
There's a ballet being fought out in the alley
Until the local cops, cherry tops, rips this holy night
The streets alive as secret debts are paid
Contacts made, they vanished unseen
Kids flash guitars just like switch-blades hustling for the record machine
The hungry and the hunted explode into rocknroll bands
That face off against each other out in the street down in jungleland

In the parking lot the visionaries dress in the latest rage
Inside the backstreet girls are dancing to the records that the d.j. plays
Lonely-hearted lovers struggle in dark corners
Desperate as the night moves on, just a look and a whisper, and they're gone

Beneath the city two hearts beat
Soul engines running through a night so tender in a bedroom locked
In whispers of soft refusal and then surrender in the tunnels uptown
The rats own dream guns him down as shots echo down them hallways in the
Night
No one watches when the ambulance pulls away
Or as the girl shuts out the bedroom light

Outside the streets on fire in a real death waltz
Between flesh and what's fantasy and the poets down here
Don't write nothing at all, they just stand back and let it all be
And in the quick of the night they reach for their moment
And try to make an honest stand but they wind up wounded, not even dead
Tonight in jungleland

Alain Clark - Father & Friend.

O, Papa sit down, and hear my song.
O, and if you feel like it then please sing along
No nothing that I wanna say, I haven’t said before
But to use your words, you can never be too sure

See, even though. I don’t always show.. I’m glad that you’re along.
Said I’m glad that you're around

O sonny, so strange, to hear and see
That someone so different is, a soul like me.
You may have gone right, where I would have gone left.
But son, that’s alright. I will always have your back
See even though. I don’t always show.
I’m proud of you, my son.

Old days, and all of the new wanting to be like you.

Every time I look at you. I see myself. I’m so proud of you.
For you help make me what I am.
A better man.
I’m just so proud of you.

O dad, your views in life. Tell me how they came to be.
Well see, I didn’t know my father like the way that you know me.
Son, life is just too short. For us to never be in touch.
That’s why I want to tell you that I love you very much.
Oh even though, I don’t always show. You know
And I want you to know that.

Every time I look at you. I see myself. I’m so proud of you.
You help make me what I am.
A better man.
I’m just so proud of you.

I’m here and I’ll be if I can a Father and a friend.

Every time I look at you.

Every time I look at you. I see myself. I’m so proud of you.
You help make me what I am.
A son and a friend
I’m just so proud of you.
You know that one day too I ll be walking in your shoes
Yeah and I know that you'll do fine cause you're a son of mine
Oh Hey papa tell me what you've learned so that I don't get my fingers burned
Son you'll see that as you go you'll make mistakes of your own
But that's ok man see you live and you learn
You live and you learn....

The maestro Christy Moore yawl.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pW1MUpZT4ug

Lyrics to Viva La Quinta Brigada :

Ten years before I saw the light of morning
A comradeship of heroes was laid
From every corner of the world came sailing
The Fifth International Brigade

They came to stand beside the Spanish people
To try and stem the rising fascist tide
Franco's allies were the powerful and wealthy
Frank Ryan's men came from the other side

Even the olives were bleeding
As the battle for Madrid it thundered on
Truth and love against the force of evil
Brotherhood against the fascist clan

CHORUS
Viva la Quinta Brigada
"No Pasaran", the pledge that made them fight
"Adelante" is the cry around the hillside
Let us all remember them tonight

Bob Hilliard was a Church of Ireland pastor
Form Killarney across the Pyrenees he came
From Derry came a brave young Christian Brother
Side by side they fought and died in Spain

Tommy Woods age seventeen died in Cordoba
With Na Fianna he learned to hold his gun
From Dublin to the Villa del Rio
Where he fought and died beneath the blazing sun

CHORUS

Many Irishmen heard the call of Franco
Joined Hitler and Mussolini too
Propaganda from the pulpit and newspapers
Helped O'Duffy to enlist his crew

The word came from Maynooth, "support the Nazis"
The men of cloth failed again
When the Bishops blessed the Blueshirts in Dun Laoghaire
As they sailed beneath the swastika to Spain

CHORUS

This song is a tribute to Frank Ryan
Kit Conway and Dinny Coady too
Peter Daly, Charlie Regan and Hugh Bonar
Though many died I can but name a few

Danny Boyle, Blaser-Brown and Charlie Donnelly
Liam Tumilson and Jim Straney from the Falls
Jack Nalty, Tommy Patton and Frank Conroy
Jim Foley, Tony Fox and Dick O'Neill

CHORUS
