A baseball song
Your radio broadcast was a re-enactment, letty. I can tell, because they called Jackie Robinson African-American. The word they used for him was "Negro" or "colored."

@edgarblythe,
I knew it was fake, edgar. I was just trying to find some old radio shows, etc.

Love that one about Willie Mays, incidentally.

Here's one that made me think of all of us.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I really enjoyed all three of your songs. The Crystals' He's a Rebel; The Rolling Stones montage of great groups and especially Brook Benton. Couldn't understand those lyrics to well, so here they are.

You're way on top now
And you're having a ball
You've got the world on a string
You think you've got everything

But you've got nothing at all
'Cause one day, you'll wake up
On the other side of the hill
Oh, if Mother Nature don't stop you
Father time will

The pace that you're setting
You know it's too fast
Tomorrow, you'll have no future
And there's nothing worth
Thinking of from your past

You're just breaking yourself
Robbing your own till
If Mother Nature don't stop you
Father Time sure will

Listen, you're heading
In the wrong direction
You're running from true love
And affection

I'm taking life seriously
To you, it's just a thrill
You better watch Mother Nature
Or Father Time surely will
Father Time sure will

Thanks, buddy, for the great day on WA2K.

My goodnight song. Sorry, but I love the guy.Sorry Celine, you're ok, too.

Tomorrow is Memorial Day, (originally Decoration Day) and it's John of Virginia's birthday.

Goodnight to all of you everywhere

@edgarblythe,
Goodnight, edgar. Loved that one, and here are the lyrics.

Turning and turning
The world goes on.
We can't change it, my friend.
Let us go riding all through the days,
Together to the end, to the end.

Les bicyclettes de Belsize
Carry us side by side
And hand in hand we will ride,
Over Belsize.
Turn your magical eyes.
Round and around,

Memorial/Decoration day salute.

We used to go to the Memorial Day ceremony at the Veteran Cemetery. But it had gotten to be something of an ordeal, due to overcrowding and poor production, so we watch the local news for the story these days.

edgar, I don't know that one by Ramblin' Jack. I remember it best by Peter, Paul, and Mary. Thanks, buddy.

Izzie, Welcome back. Jack Johnson's Supposed to Be reminds me that I wrote in Dave's poem. "...I still think that you were meant to be here..."

More synchronicity, gal. My older sister is putting roses on all the graves at our family cemetery. Also learned that "Dave" is the most often used word in the Bible.

Ah, the dancing queen has returned.

Jack Johnson song was very good. (Hi, izzie).
I never can recall what Abba did until the music starts, then I realize they did some pretty good songs.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar, "the jester" did a great tribute to Woody.

Thinking of my brother today. (never got to know him too well) I do know that he sang this one, however.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzogTxwnDjQ&feature=related

and I just found our Izzie's lyrics to her song.

"Supposed To Be"

Maybe it's up with the stars
Maybe it's under the sea
Maybe it's not very far
Maybe this is how it's supposed to be
This is how it's supposed to be
Maybe it's trapped in a jar
Something we've already seen
Maybe it's nowhere at all
Maybe this is how it's supposed to be
This is how it's supposed to be
Looking forward as we rewind
Looking back is a trap sometimes
Being here is so easy to do
If you want to

Ah, edgar. I do know a real Freddy Cannon. Love that dixieland song and we'll dedicate that to mismi our Dixie Queen.

Izzie, Love Seals and Croft's Summer Breeze. "...going through the jasmine of my mind..." is a fantastic line. I have a bush here that is called confederate jasmine.

Today is Benny Goodman's birthday, so here is a tribute to the man.

@edgarblythe,
Great one by The Fab Four, edgar. All Together Now featured that walrus. I know they did a song called I Am the Walrus, but all I could think of was Lewis Carol's The Walrus and the Carpenter.

Yep, Texas, the Marching Band Refused to Yield, so here is a montage of their songs. Only two now, Paul and Ringo.
