Irish, I really love Annie Lennox Don't know Why by her but I just noticed that she did my "telling song".

edgar is being "bon mot" today.

Today is Ian Fleming's birthday. Here are a bunch of James Bond themes. I don't agree with the narrator, however. Sean Connery will always be my favorite spy.

Oops, missed Beyonce, Irish. Too busy smiling at our edgar's last remark. Back later to comment.

Irish, Etta James would love that parody on Beyonce. Funny! Also smiled at the parody on Michael Jackson.

edgar, She's Not There by The Zombies was lovely.

Hey, yawl missed my "kiss kiss bang bang"

So long ago I read a book called The Serpent and The Rainbow.

In April 1982, ethnobotanist Wade Davis arrived in Haiti to investigate two documented cases of zombis -- people who had reappeared in Haitian society years after they had been officially declared dead and had been buried. Drawn into a netherworld of rituals and celebrations, Davis penetrated the vodoun mystique deeply enough to place zombification in its proper context within vodoun culture. In the course of his investigation, Davis came to realize that the story of vodoun is the history of Haiti -- from the African origins of its people to the successful Haitian independence movement, down to the present day, where vodoun culture is, in effect, the government of Haiti's countryside.The Serpent and the Rainbow combines anthropological investigation with a remarkable personal adventure to illuminate and finally explain a phenomenon that has long fascinated Americans

Now, Annie does my telling song.

Bond films invariably produce great theme music.
Annie Lenox is new to me, but the songs by her today are good.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the comment, edgar. Had no idea that Nancy Sinatra sang one of those Bond songs.

Billy Paul - Me & Mrs Jones.

Me and Mrs.Jones
We got a thing goin'on
We both know that it's wrong
But it's much too strong
To let it go now

We meet every day at the same cafe
Six-thirty and no one knows she'll be there
Holding hands, making all kinds of plans
While the juke box plays our favorite songs

Me and Mrs. Mrs. Jones
We got a thing goin'on
We both know that it's wrong
But it's much too strong
To let it go now

We gotta be extra careful
That do we don't build our hopes up too high
Because she's got her own obligations
And so, and so, do I

Me and Mrs. Mrs. Jones
We got a thing goin'on
We both know that it's wrong
But it's much too strong
To let it go now

Well, it's time for us to be leaving
It hurts so much, it hurts so much inside
Now she'll go her way and I'll go mine
Tomorrow we'll meet
The same place, the same time

Me and Mrs. Mrs. Jones
We got a thing goin'on ..........

Got a dinner date with friends later so I've gotta catch a few z's.
Climbing the apples.
Laters WA2K.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning WA2K folks.

edgar, I loved your goodnight song. Marty Robbins tribute to The Texas Rangers was great. That could very well be a song that tells a story.

Hurry back, Brit. Me and Miss Jones was perfect. I know it as well.

edgar, Hilarious. Little Richard's Light of the Silvery Moon made me smile.

Sail Along Silvery Moon was wonderful.

Speaking of June.

Summer has come in,
Loudly sing, Cuckoo!
The seed grows and the meadow
blooms
And the wood springs anew,
Sing, Cuckoo!
The ewe bleats after the lamb
The cow lows after the calf.
The bullock stirs, the stag farts,
Merrily sing, Cuckoo!
Cuckoo, cuckoo, well you sing,
cuckoo;
Don't you ever stop now,

Sing cuckoo now. Sing, Cuckoo.
Sing Cuckoo. Sing cuckoo now!

Now, to match our Brits' Jones song.

@edgarblythe,
Songs that made the hit parade, edgar, and yes, winter is a cumen in ..... Razz

God Bless America should have been our National Anthem. A teacher wrote that.

For some reason, I came across this unusual song. I like it, so let's listen, shall we?

@edgarblythe,
Wow! I have been searching and searching for old time radio shows.

Love that one by Paul, edgar, but I don't know I Know What I Know. Razz

I remember Oliver Twist, but not Anthony Newly as the artful dodger. That song Why, was great.

All I could find was this one. Odd that I recall Inner Sanctum but barely recall one episode.
