Good morning, WA2K folks. edgar, yours and Reyn's comment was indeed a tribute to all of us here. Peggy Lee's and Bob's day will come. Dylan's New Morning was perfect for today.

Hey, Brit. I loved Al Green's Nothing Takes the Place of You.

The Right Track was Great. Strange, buddy. When I listened to B.B. King's song as done by Thelma and Louise, I thought of this:

"hindsight is an exact science".

My morning song.

Thanks, yawl, for keeping us on the air. Terrible thunder storms here and I'm glad that I have a surge protector.

edgar, Love Bridge Over Troubled waters as you know.

Your's and our Irish friend' s two song by Elvis, Poor Boy and Lawdy Miss Clawdy were great.

The kids for Orlando are here, so I shall be back later to say goodnight after this birthday boy's song.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar. Never heard Chest Fever by The Band. I remember them best for The Weight.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with Perry Como.

Helen Reddy - Peaceful.

In the morning fun when no one will be drinking any more wine
I'll wake the sun up by givin' him a fresh air full of the wind cup
And I won't be found in the shadows hiding sorrow
And I can wait for fate to bring around to me any part of my tomorrow, tomorrow

'cause it's oh, so peaceful here
There's no one bending over my shoulder
Nobody breathing in my ear
Oh, so peaceful here

In the evening shadows are callin' me and the dew settles in my mind
And I think of friends in the yesterday when my plans were giggled in rhyme
I had a son while on the run and his love brought a tear to my eye
And maybe some day he'll up and say "We had a pretty nice time", oh, oh, oh, my

'cause it's oh, so peaceful here
There's no one bending over my shoulder
Nobody breathing in my ear
Oh, so peaceful here
There's no one bending over my shoulder
Nobody breathing in my ear
Oh, so peaceful here....

Morning, all. It promises to be a glorious day here on WA2K.

edgar, Loved both of your Jerry songs. What happened to Tom? Razz

I really enjoyed the three versions of Phil Collins' Something in the Air, Brit, and Helen Reddy's was one that I know.

Had to do some research on Gil Scott Heron.

Scott-Heron began his recording career in 1970 with the LP Small Talk at 125th and Lenox. Bob Thiele of Flying Dutchman Records produced the album, and Scott-Heron was accompanied by Eddie Knowles and Charlie Saunders on conga and David Barnes on percussion and vocals. The album's 15 tracks dealt with themes such as the superficiality of television and mass consumerism, the hypocrisy of some would-be Black revolutionaries, white middle-class ignorance of the difficulties faced by inner-city residents, and homophobia. In the liner notes, Scott-Heron acknowledged as influences Richie Havens, John Coltrane, Otis Redding, Jose Feliciano, Billie Holiday, Langston Hughes, Malcolm X, Huey Newton, Nina Simone, and the pianist who would become his long-time collaborator, Brian Jackson. (loved his flute on the latter song)

Thanks for the introduction and hurry back, buddy.

That gorilla drummer was funny.

A birthday boy.
