@Dutchy,
I knew you were back, Dutchy. Izzie keeps careful track of her crew.

Here's one for you. Watched him last evening in Without a Trace.

I'm assuming that you are old enough to watch that one X rated scene. Razz

@Letty,
Thank you for that Miss Letty. Did you know I have seen Anthony LaPaglia as he often visits my town? He was born on 31 January 1959, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia.

Yes, aussie, I knew that. You've got mail. Check it out dear cosmic eagle.

edgar, I hope you are feeling all right. Not necessary to comment on everything as I have already done so.

Time for me to say goodnight as well, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, for our edgar.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqKbR5lRnQQ

From the Boss. (we'll dedicate this to our Ursula. So glad to have heard from her today)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZx-QYNBTug&feature=fvwrel

Ah, how wonderful to see Australia, Ireland, and England with us today. Not certain what ethnicity Old Goat is, but we are always glad to see him here.

Also glad that our Highlander listened to his music and a bit of history.

Goodnight to you all, everywhere.

From Letty with love and a smile

Morning Ms Letty,Ed and all WA2K folks.Heard of this on the radio at work last night and I couldn't believe my ears (I was laughing for ages) so I'm starting today from the "you couldn't make it up" news desk....
Due to their very strict food laws relating to added vitamins and minerals,the Danish government has told every food supplier to remove Marmite from their shelves -

Other "suspect" foodstuffs that have also been banned over the past few months include....

and...

wait for it....

Angry Marmite fans are planning civil disobedience protests (and quite rightly to!)

Back to the music....

@Barry The Mod,

Jimmy Rosenberg was an incredible prodigy, until cocaine took him over.

Now he's just great, unbelievable.

Good morning, WA2K folks.

Loved our edgar's George Gershwin song. Plenty of Nothing by Harry was great, Texas.

Hey, Brit. Here's a quote from a very famous thinker.

Civil Disobedience (1849) is an essay by Henry David Thoreau expressing his belief that people should not allow governments to overrule or atrophy their consciences and that people have a duty both to avoid doing injustice directly and to avoid allowing their acquiescence to enable the government to make them the agents of injustice. Thoreau was motivated in part by his disgust with slavery and the Mexican-American War.

Loved that fantastic jazz song. Nuages was perfect to begin the day. Thanks for the introduction. McTag agrees with you.

Two songs for the early morning here in Florida.

First, a birthday gal.

Now, a great surprise for the sunrise, yawl.

Good morning radiofolk. There are a few showers near college station and headed our way. If they hold together, we may get our second rain shower of the year. Likely not, though.
Well, Mario and Turn Turn Turn are in their own ways great songs and performances. Roger McGuin gets around a lot, post Byrds.

Personally, I think a few added vitamins and minerals are helpful, rather than a cause to ban foods. I have noticed that the most popular supplements people take, such as fish oil, have been steadily increasing in price as consumer interest rises.

Thanks for your comments, edgar.

Incidentally, Reyn has a wonderful exhibition done by his nephew. I suggest that everyone visit his wildlife photography.

I remember when Leslie Uggams got her first big break. She was featured on some Mitch Miller recordings.
The World Waiting for the Sunrise - another song I like a lot. There is also a country version of it, done as a slow ballad, but it is not available on youtube.

@edgarblythe,
I thought that The World is Waiting for the Sunrise, edgar, was unique in that it was by a Japanese jazz band.

It's the Story Teller's birthday, so here is a tribute to the man, yawl.

I've just been eating dangerous marmite on toast and reading Chai's thread, where she was nearly stampeded by buffalo.
I think she went to South Dakota in search of a cowboy.

Speaking of which.....

Where have all the cowboys gone?

Ah, our edgar missed Tom T. 's tribute.

Old Goat, just found out that you were a Brit. Will wonders never cease. Liked that one by Paula Cole.

Reyn, You are most welcome, and welcome back, Canada.

More synchronicity, yawl.

Rio Bravo was on last evening, but I didn't watch it. Here is the trailer.

I watched Rio Bravo almost a year ago. The story was much more slowly paced than I recalled from a younger day watching.
Tom T Hall - I like most of his songs, including Clayton Delaney. The only one he did I can recall not liking was called Sneaky Snake.
Old Goat's cowboy song - Pretty good.
