@edgarblythe,
Funny how many folks do the same song, edgar. Loved that Spanish Lace by Gene McDaniels. Checked him out and it seems he now lives like a hermit. Thanks for the introduction, Texas.

That one reminded me of Willie and Ray.

@edgarblythe,
Love that Angel Flying too Close to the Ground, edgar. I really enjoy that guy, still.

Here's a surprise. Couldn't find the Bob Dylan version, but here's another. Sang this to my daddy as he lay dying, but he sang it with me.

Here are the lyrics that I recall.

where did you get those high top shoes,
Where did you get that coat so fine.

I got my shoes from a railroad man,
and my dress from a driver in the mine.

Don't let your deal go down, honey babe.
Don't let your deal go down,

Don't let your deal go down, honey babe,
Til your last gold dollar is gone.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! I know that edgar. Love it! The visuals were awesome, too. I knew most of those animals as well. Great one!

So long ago, I was looking for this hymn, and someone from Wall Street called Bull and Bear, gave me this version. This lady changes the melody a bit but she is awesome.

"Once To Every Man and Nation" Lyrics

Once to every man and nation, comes the moment to decide,
In the strife of truth with falsehood, for the good or evil side;
Some great cause, some great decision, offering each the bloom or blight,
And the choice goes by forever, ’twixt that darkness and that light.

Then to side with truth is noble, when we share her wretched crust,
Ere her cause bring fame and profit, and ’tis prosperous to be just;
Then it is the brave man chooses while the coward stands aside,
Till the multitude make virtue of the faith they had denied.

By the light of burning martyrs, Christ, Thy bleeding feet we track,
Toiling up new Calv’ries ever with the cross that turns not back;
New occasions teach new duties, time makes ancient good uncouth,
They must upward still and onward, who would keep abreast of truth.

Though the cause of evil prosper, yet the truth alone is strong;
Though her portion be the scaffold, and upon the throne be wrong;
Yet that scaffold sways the future, and behind the dim unknown,
Standeth God within the shadow, keeping watch above His own.

Noddy loved it, too.

@edgarblythe,
Yes, edgar, that oriental lady was marvelous.

What a soothing song by Harry. The Kingston Market and the calypso tone was great. Chicago's Smile was perfect.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, You Light Up My Life by Debby. (how sad that the man who wrote it, met such a sad death)

Now, inspired by The Grimm's Brothers fairy tales. (loved them as a kid)

An evening prayer for children everywhere.

Goodnight to all of you everywhere,

From Letty with love

Never heard that one from Grimm brothers, but it was good. I love Debbie Boone's song. It is the only one I ever did hear her sing.

Hurry back, Brit. Found this out about your blues singer.

Ottilie Patterson (born 31 January 1932) is a Northern Irish blues singer best known for her performances and recordings with the Chris Barber Jazz Band in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Great voice; great song.

Hmmm, Where did all our Georges go,
Long time passing,
Where did all Georges go,
Long time ago. Razz

edgar, Loved The Impalas Sorry song. They ran all the way home just to sing that.

Hmmm. That one by Jackie Wilson sounds familiar, Texas.

Ah, Brian's Sealed With a Kiss brings back memories.

Couple of songs for the late afternoon.

First, one to go with Jackie's

Now, a Monday song.

I could compare our edgar's return with Frost's a patch of old snow. I had begun to rue the day.

Hod to go back to work to straighten out some things. Tchaikovsky copied Jackie Wilson's song.

If today had been only manic, I could have tolerated it. I am very happy that this day is getting closer to being over with.

Me too, for you, edgar.

Well those Spice Girls wannabe somebody else. Just look at the two in the middle; one has on our bear's pants and the other our Brit's shirt.

I wannabe a wallaby, yawl.

So tomorrow is Bob Dylan's 70th birthday, as I read in this article at the New Yorker News Desk blog:

http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/newsdesk/2011/05/bob-dylan-birthday.html#entry-more

And from that article, I got this link for Girl from the North Country, a saver.
