@edgarblythe,
That Elvis plays great guitar, edgar. Well, well. He sang a Bob Dylan song. I Threw it All Away was great.

Saying goodnight with a woman that means this for Elvis.

MY SAD TRIBUTE TO HUGH LAURIE.

I've just been listening to the BBC, and have heard the very sad news that Hugh Laurie has become a blues singer.

Years before Hugh Laurie became a grumpy American Doctor, at around the time that Dyke Van Dick transmogrified into a Cockney, Mr Laurie found fame as part of a comedy double act on British TV.

At that time he spoke properly and everyone could understand him. Run snippet.....

He then went on to even greater fame, still speaking properly, in the immensely popular comedy series called "Blackadder".
Hugh Laurie - Blackadder

At no time was there any intimation that he was about to let his grasp of the English language slip in any way, and certainly did not mention that he had a hankering for playing or listening to any kind of music other than a spot of Vivaldi.

Then, alas, he was seduced into going over the pond and look what happened!
Sorry, but there are no subtitles, so you'll just have to lip read or guess and hope for the best.

Now look at him. He's almost groovy, for god's sake!

This phenomenon almost happened to our very own Dudley Moore, but at least he had the good sense to carry on speaking properly, even with Bo Diddley's braids in his eyes in the film "10".

If we promise to return Dyke Van Dick, will you please send Mr Laurie to elocution re-training?

Thank you.

Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, loved your goodnight song. Just found out that Art and Dottie were a one hit wonder in the U.K. I love that song.

Hey, Brit. The Blues Brothers doing Hey Bartender was a great one.

O.G. To me Hugh Laurie is one talented guy. I had no idea he was British until later. You can keep Dudley and Ravel and Dick. Please allow us to accept Hugh in all his facets. What a fabulous musician. That was a neat commentary, however. Thanks, buddy.

Two songs for the early morning here.

First, a birthday man.

Plus the lyrics.

It's impossible to tell the sun to leave the sky,
It's just impossible.
It's impossible to ask a baby not to cry,
It's just impossible.
Can I hold you closer to me
And not feel you going through me,
But the second that I never think of you?
Oh, how impossible.

Can the ocean keep from rushing to the shore?
It's just impossible.
If I had you could I ever ask for more?
It's just impossible.
And tomorrow, should you ask me for the world
Somehow I'd get it, I would sell my very soul
And not regret it for to live without your love
Is just impossible

Do yawl like Leonard? Hope so, cause here he is in London.

Last evening, I saw a RED moon rising, but it has turned to gold again. According to those who appear to know, it could be the predecessor to a lunar eclipse.

edgar, Great one by Babs and Judy. Especially enjoyed Happy Days Are Here Again, because that was FDR's campaign song. Presidents don't do campaign songs any more. (except for Pancho's Razz )

Hey, Irish. Loved Shirley Bassey's This is My Life. She is one great diva. Not to worry about that foul mouthed granny. Her grandson's got soap awaiting her when she finds the right car.

Hurry back, Brit. Great version of Yesterday. Always liked Marvin Gaye.

Today is this guy from Hong Kong birthday, so here is a great tribute to him.

Chow and George - Good tributes. My fave by George is Amarillo By Morning, which he did a snippet of there. Euro and Barry were on a roll earlier.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for your comments, edgar, and welcome back.

Love The Byrds' Chimes of Freedom.

Hmmm. I was afraid that red moon might have take Dublin and London to another place far away from the planet.

Maybe these guys will get them back.

I've heard them do better, however
