@edgarblythe,
Great one by the Green man, edgar. Wonder if a hornet and a black bird can get along together.

Blackbird seems destined to be one of the Beatles' most remembered songs.
Gots Art Garfunkle for my good night song.

I just want to celebrate another day of livin'
I just want to celebrate another day of life
I put my faith in the people
But the people let me down
So I turned the other way
And I carry on, anyhow
That's why I'm telling you

I just want to celebrate, yeah, yeah
I just want to celebrate, yeah, yeah
Another day of living,
I just want to celebrate another day of life

Had my hand on the dollar bill
And the dollar bill blew away
But the sun is shining down on me
And it's here to stay
That's why I'm telling you

I just want to celebrate, yeah, yeah
Another day of living, yeah
I just want to celebrate another day of living
I just want to celebrate another day of life

Don't let it all get you down,
Don't let it turn you around and around
And around and around

Well, I can't be bothered with sorrow
And I can't be bothered with hate, no, no
I'm using up my time by feeling fine, every day
That's why I'm telling you I just want to celebrate
Aw, yeah
I just want to celebrate yeah yeah
Another day of living, yeah yeah
I just want to celebrate another day of livin', yeah
I just want to celebrate another day of life

Don't let it all get you down, no, no
Don't let it turn you around and around,
And around and around, and around
Around round round
'round and around round round round
don't go 'round

I just want to celebrate
I just want to celebrate
I just want to celebrate
I just want to celebrate
I just want to celebrate
I just want to celebrate

Good morning. It's a Kellogs Cornflakes type of morning, I do believe. Temperature is already close to 80 out there. See you later on the radio.

Good morning, WA2K folks. Hope we get some rain as well, edgar, and your goodnight song by Art was great. Don't know This is the Moment. Thanks for your comment and the introduction. Hurry back, Texas.

Hey, Brit. Grover Washington's Mr. Magic was great. A rousing song to wake up to. Loved Rare Earth's I Just Want to Celebrate, and your allusion to "..white boy's funky song.." gave me a smile. So, it's doughnut day is it? Salute to the bakery.

Wow, Francis. You like that Love Song, but remember, "the heart is a lonely hunger."

My morning song, yawl.

The singing bus driver.

@jespah,
Funny, Jes. Love Spinning Wheel, and welcome back to our cyber radio. I love those miniature donuts, unfortunately.

Today is Donovan's birthday, so here is a tribute to him.

@edgarblythe,
Welcome back, edgar, and thanks again for your comments. Wow! That Writer in the Sun was fantastic. Especially enjoyed the visuals.

Well, you know how I love spirituals, and Clara Ward's When the Gates Swing Open was great. Don't know her, but thanks again for the introduction.

Well, folks. Donovan is Scottish so here's an Irishman whose birthday is today.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment on Bono, edgar.

Leonard Cohen's There is a War is fantastic. The lyrics say so much.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, since it's Fred Astaire's birthday, here's another royal wedding song and dance.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8n7WQIXQDs&feature=fvwrel

And, to match Fred, Nat.

Nice to see Paris and London with us today.

from Letty with love and a smile.

Morning Ms Letty,Ed and all WA2K folks.
Back in 1951,watching Mr Astaire dancing all over that room must have blown away the movie audiences. The technique was later copied by Stanley Kubrick in his movie 2001.
It's the middle of the week and I've got a bit of a mixed bag today and as WA2K is a "broard church" I'm kicking off with one from 1981....

Heard one of my fave Country songs on the radio at work last night....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHp68Qniyg8
Reverend Horton Heat - Where In The Hell Did You Go.

You didn't leave a bar of soap when you left me.
You didn't even leave a towel so I could dry my face.
You didn't even leave a plate for me to eat on.
But you left all my empty beer cans all over the place.

You didn't leave my precious black and white TV set.
You took the Jimi Hendrix poster that was on my door.
You left with my very best friend - our dog Smokey.
But I found all the unpaid bills on the kitchen floor.

And where in the hell did you go with my toothbrush?
And where in the hell did you happen to spend last night?
You didn't leave a bar of soap when you left me.
And you didn't even tell me they was turning out the lights.

You didn't leave my little five dollar alarm clock.
You didn't even leave a note; I guess it's all been said.
You didn't even leave the cushions for the sofa.
And now that I'm used to the couch, you left the bed.

And where in the hell did you go with my toothbrush?
And where in the hell have you been for the last three days?
You didn't leave a bar of soap when you left me.
And you didn't stick around to see the teardrops on my face.
