@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the comment concerning Lionel Hampton, edgar.

Great one by Joan. Were she and Bob Dylan a couple at one time, or am I confusing her with someone else.

Never heard You Ain't Goin' Nowhere. (when I was a kid, I read that as now here. Razz )

It's Jessica Lange's birthday and I met her and Sam at Mountain Lake. They tell me the lake has vanished. She was excellent in the story of Frances Farmer.

Bob and Joan were an item. She pushed it, he turned away.

I have seen a few of Jessica's films. Didn't like that version of King Kong, but it was the filmmaker's fault, not hers.

@edgarblythe,
I didn't like King Kong either, edgar.

Never heard O Carol by Neil, but as you know my favorite by him is The Immigrant.

Just a memory of Mountain Lake.

Well, I went on a search for Joan's diamonds and Rust and look what I found.

@edgarblythe,
I don't know that one by "the jester", edgar. Romance in Durango was great, however. I was fascinated with that version of Joan's song because of the oriental lady that did it (Chyi Yu). Check her out, Texas.

Today is this artist's birthday, and he is fascinating.

Some info on the man.

This is a Catalan name. The first family name is Miró and the second is Ferrà.
Joan Miró

Joan Miró i Ferrà (April 20, 1893 – December 25, 1983; Catalan pronunciation: [ʒuˈam miˈɾo]) was a Spanish Catalan painter, sculptor, and ceramicist born in Barcelona.

Earning international acclaim, his work has been interpreted as Surrealism, a sandbox for the subconscious mind, a re-creation of the childlike, and a manifestation of Catalan pride. In numerous interviews dating from the 1930s onwards, Miró expressed contempt for conventional painting methods as a way of supporting bourgeois society, and famously declared an "assassination of painting" in favour of upsetting the visual elements of established painting.

Ferra is a talented man. I did not like many of his works, but many were most compelling.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the comment on Ferra, buddy.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, I'm certain that you don't know this one.

Nice to have London with us today; perhaps tomorrow EuroGeorge will reappear, and our funny friend neco nomad.

Love Honky Tonk Angels by the Grease Band. Did Kitty Wells do that one?

Deep in the Heart of (clap clap clap) Texas - good version of it.

Oh man...old farts call this Vamping. Hotty, Julie London, the sexiest, torchiest vamp lady of her (or any) era. Jazzy versions of these classics are best for me. Hope y'all enjoy, too::

@edgarblythe,
That Watusi Ray Baretto tune's pretty cool. It's hard to stay still to it.

Thanks. I hope I added some authentic quality of singing .. back when singers were really emotive. I really like Linda Ronstadt, but she pales, for the most part, next to these ladies.

As I wrote, I'm a big fan off Julie London's but Peggy Lee I liked earlier on in her career = when she did a pure jazz styling and was less pop, like in Black Coffee.

Peggy's career was long and distinguished. I like the way she went from music style to other music style. I guess my favorite by her is Is All There Is, but Golden Earrings is up there, too. Then there's Why Don't You Do Right.
