Good early morning from Florida, WA2K folks.

edgar, your goodnight song by Stonewall Jackson was fantastic and the visuals were a history lesson. Thanks, Texas. Had to check out Big John Bull, however.

Well, look at this. Our Brit unwooshed to comment on Old Goat's Joe Brown.

London, Paradise by Brettina was great; Also enjoyed Aaron Tesser's Light and Stars and Mary Johnson's You've Got What it Takes. Did not know one of them.

Hey, O.G. Thanks for the mini biography of Joe. I'll See You In My Dreams played on the uke was great. Know that song but not Joe.

Today is Greg Peck's birthday, and that man was awesome. Here's a tribute to him.

I never see Moby Dick that I don't think of M.D. and J.M. Not a word from them, however.

I am glad I am not the only one who remembers Marv Johnson. Loved Old Goat's G Harrison story and the music.

I recently watched Greg Peck in Duel in the Sun. I was amazed at how his persona changed from that over the years.

I dip into my youthful favorites from time to time. Still love them as much today as when I first heard them.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning folks, just home for a spot of lunch,
catch up on all the tunes later.

It's the 5th anniversary of Gene Pitney's death today, He died on April 5, 2006, aged 66. His tour manager found him dead in the Hilton Hotel, in Cardiff, Wales, in the middle of a UK tour. His final show at Cardiff's St. David's Hall earned him a standing ovation; he ended with "Town Without Pity". An autopsy confirmed heart disease, caused by atherosclerosis. He was survived by his wife, Lynne, and three sons, Todd, Chris and David.

euro and edgar, How strange. I saw the movie The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, and had to check out the details to remember the movie. I guess Lee Marvin was Liberty and John Wayne(that must have been where he got the epithet "pilgrim") was the hero.

Thanks for The Town Without Pity. Didn't know the other one.

edgar, Susie Darlin' by Robin Luke was unfamiliar to me, however.

Odd, when I watched some movies all I paid attention to was the music not the performer. That changed later, of course.

@Letty,
And you know, Letty, it's when the music's better than the story. At least that's what I thought of East Of Eden. Where were you in '55? Easy listening instrumental time , dear WA2K listeners.

@neko nomad,
UhOh, neco. I don't recall that theme from East of Eden. Had to check it out and noted that Victor Young did the music. It was beautiful, however, especially the visuals. Hmmm. That was in my John Steinbeck days

I recall James Dean in East of Eden, but only because it was based on the Bible story of Cain and Able. Razz

Well, that's an exception to my rule. (you know; the golden one?)

Recall both the theme and the movie from Ladyhawke.

I had forgotten the theme music for East of Eden. Good music.
Ladyhawke I remember better.

@edgarblythe,
As you know, edgar, I love Marty Robbins, but didn't see The Hanging Tree. My favorite of his was The Alamo, buddy.

Once Upon a Time in the West. Fantastic theme.

@edgarblythe,
Oops, edgar, I love that one by Leonard, but I have searched and searched for the movie. No luck, Texas.

How about this one from the James Bond movie From Russia with Love.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for your comment on Matt, edgar. I really like The Bee Gees doing Saturday Night Fever.

Now here is a montage of theme songs from a fantastic composer.

I listened to the music without watching the video, testing to see if I could name any of the movies. Nope. Good music, though.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, you probably remember John Williams best for the Jaws movie. As we have discussed, that movie was a poor man's Moby Dick. Razz

I listened twice to that fantastic jazz piano and guitar. Wow! what a beautiful theme. I had to check out Spender in the Grass with Natalie and Warren. Don't recall much about it.

UhOh, neco. Forgot both.

I love this Scottish version of the theme from Titanic.
