Titanic was to me a great film. I went to the theater to watch it and then bought a copy, which I have watched a number of times. I love that theme.
Here is an example of love the theme, can't watch the movie

Best norwegian film in a while. Trollhunter.
Norwegian folklore is actually truth. This film exposes the amazing coverup the government has been getting away with all this time!

@edgarblythe,
Yes, it is exciting. But I am not sure if the extra thrill came from the fact that it deals with folk lore that I have been brought up with.

edgar, I loved the Lara's theme from Dr. Zhivago. I had to see the movie to understand the book. The Apartment I don't quite remember, but I loved The Days of Wine and Roses, buddy. McTag knew Edmundo Ros, incidentally.

Cyracuz, Welcome back. The Troll Hunter was awesome. Hey, I believe in those kinds of things.

Unfortunately, I don't remember the theme to Gladiator. I was too intent on watching Joaquin Phoenix stealing the show from him.

Time for me to say goodnight, and in searching for something of Norway, I discovered this guy. Awesome, but first some info.

American tenor Frank Porretta makes his Seattle Opera debut as Cavaradossi in Puccini’s Tosca, a role that he has sung in Vienna, Paris, Dresden, Hamburg, Montpellier, Baltimore, Norfolk, and at the Hollywood Bowl. In 2002, Porretta made his European debut in the title role of Verdi’s Otello at Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville. Subsequently, he sang the role of King Arthur in the world premiere of Albeniz’s Merlin at Teatro Real in Madrid. Other recent roles include Don Alvaro in Verdi’s Forza del destino and Dick Johnson in Puccini’s Fanciulla del West at Deutsche Oper Berlin, and Calaf in Puccini’s Turandot at Teatro Regio Torino. He returns to the Berlin State Opera this season for Radames in Verdi’s Aida. The son of two American opera singers, Porretta completed his musical studies at Julliard School of Music. His father, tenor Frank Porretta, Jr., made his Seattle Opera debut as Gerald in the 1967 production of Delibes’ Lakmé and his mother, soprano Roberta Palmer, made her Seattle Opera debut as Tosca in 1977

Now his song.

I also recall having done Norwegian Wood by the Beatles. Oops!

Finally, Greig

So nice to have Norway, Ireland, and London with us today.

To all, everywhere,

Good Mooooooooooorning, WA2K!

Wakey wakey!

I've been up for four hours, having been woken at 5.30am by the most raucous kerfuffle in the main barn. Wearing nowt but wellies and Y fronts and wielding the first thing I could grab (a mop - don't ask me why) I gingerly put on the light to find our cat sitting on my log pile, swishing her tail and eyeing up Albert the Cockerel.
There was a wire barrier between them, so Albert's girls were safe, but he was angry as hell and letting everyone know it.
The cat casually stretched and made her way down and out of the door, determined to keep her cool in the face of adversity, and I told Albert to shut up, but he didn't listen.
Tried to get back to sleep, but ended up weeding and raking the veggie plot as the sun rose, listening to the dawn chorus of the neighbouring farm's cows and sheep.
Planting potatoes today - Charlotte and Maris Early's.

How about a little pop quiz to get the grey matter buzzing?

What's the connection between these two classics?

Good EARLY morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, loved your goodnight song. Ha Ha said the Clown was a good one, Texas, and thanks again for your comments.

Hey, O.G. Love Teach Your Children, and I'm with our Brit. One was a British bunch and the other had American and British components. Thanks for the info on your early morning rising. (I know what Y fronts are. Razz) Sorry about the cats. (no, not Nashville).

Hey, Brit. I figured you would know the answer to O.G.'s quiz. (Shall we share the stuffed cat?)

Fantastic shot of the Russian space bunch, and thanks for letting us know that you know the John Williams montage.

Eurythemics Sisters proves that us ladies can make it on our own.

Two songs for the early morning.

First, a birthday man. What a surprise, yawl. Had no idea that he was German.

André George Previn KBE (born Andreas Ludwig Priwin; April 6, 1929) is a German-born naturalised American pianist, conductor, and composer. He is considered one of the most versatile musicians in the world, and is the winner of four Academy Awards for his film work and ten Grammy Awards for his recordings.

@Letty,
Thanks for the pieces of home Letty. Here's a great norwegian band. They are currently based in LA, as most successful bands and artists tend to end up abroad for the oportunities that offers. Luckily they come home to play alot Smile

Fine tune you imagination, dear listeners....

Now here's a suggested number for a high school musical in the girls' phys ed locker room scene in which the female lead does Shoop Shoop with
Cher's voice dubbed in. (lyrics only). It's Monday morning Period 1 Gym.

Hey, neco. I'm with edgar. Never heard that one by Cher. Funny, however, that a gal's gym class student will be doing it. Ah, buddy, I have always claimed that "...the final frontier is the imagination of the human mind..."

Thanks again for your comments, Texas. Jimmie Rodgers' Make Me a Fire was great.

Today is Billy Dee Williams' birthday, so here is one by that great guy.
