Nice one Francis!
Enjoyed James Last & Vera Lynn, Cerys Matthews has always
been a favourite of mine, unique voice.

The Harpers for Tara was one of many protests against a motorway
planned to go through the area around "The hill of Tara" an historic
area of great importance. Did the government listen to the people ?.
Off course not, Irish governments never do, the motorway went ahead.

The Boss.

Love Strangers in the Night by "the chairman of the Board", Francis.

Hey, Irish. Thanks again for your comments. Couldn't get The Boss to play. Is that boss Bruce perchance? I thought of Tara in Gone With the Wind, but thanks for your explanation.

Here's one to match Strangers in the Night.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jzx664u5DA

and, the lyrics

Here I stand, watching the tide go out
So all alone and blue
Just dreaming dreams of you

I watched your ship as it sailed out to sea
Taking all my dreams
And taking all of me

The sighing of the waves
The wailing of the wind
The tears in my eyes burn
Pleading, "My love, return"

Why, oh, why must I go on like this?
Shall I just be a lonely stranger on the shore?

I'm playing that sad song because Thor just threw a thunder bolt at me.

YIKES

@eurocelticyankee,
Not only did it work, Irish, but The Secret Garden by Bruce was awesome. Loved the visuals and listened twice.

Well, the thunder has subsided and the lightning has quit, so here is an an answer from Sarah.

That $300 million jackpot was won by seven friends. There were almost always eight playing, but that unlucky person skipped the play that day.

@edgarblythe,
What a nightmare.

I wonder had they just missed it for that one week, maybe were
out sick or couldn't afford it that week, if so they should have
counted them in.
Or had they made the worst call of their life and actually opted
out, if so , they should be put on suicide watch. Actually either
way, they should be watched.

@eurocelticyankee,
There was a news story about it on the TV, but I was preoccupied. I don't know what happened to the eighth person. If I were among them, that one would get some out of it too.

Wow! glad all is well, edgar. You and our Irish friend always say nice thing about what we play.

Love Roll on Mississippi by Charlie.

JTT, welcome to WA2K radio.

Irish, I had to go to the archives to find this out.

Glen Hansard (born 21 April 1970 in Dublin, Ireland)is the Academy Award–winning principal songwriter and vocalist/guitarist for Irish group The Frames and one half of folk rock duo, The Swell Season. He is also known for his acting, having appeared in the BAFTA winning film The Commitments, as well as starring the film Once.

His song "Falling Slowly" from Once, co-written with Markéta Irglová, won the Academy-Award for Best Original Song in 2007, and between 2007–2008 earned him ten other major nominations or awards.

Goodnight Dublin. Both ABBA songs are great.

I think the lottery is fixed, frankly.

Speaking of goodnight. I'm going to say it with music.

Bill Evans and his jazz, replete with lyrics from "old blue eyes"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1gYSbF_VFY&feature=fvwrel

You and the night and the music fill me with flaming desire,
Setting my being completely on fire!
You and the night and the music thrill me but will we be one
After the night and the music are done?

Until the pale light of dawning and daylight,
our hearts will be throbbing guitars,
Morning may come without warning,
and take away the stars.

If we must live for the moment,
love till the moment is through!
After the night and the music die,
will I have you?

We'll dedicate that one to all the wistful lovers out there.

Nice to have Dublin, Canada, and Paris with us today. I miss our Brit.

From letty with love and a sigh of relief.

Bill Evans sounds very much like Ralph Sharon's trio, to me, letty. Good music.
Speaking of good music, here is Nat
