Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, a new discovery.

and now, yawl, a not so new one.

It's been a great day on WA2K. So nice to have Paris, London, Dublin with us. Not certain where Old Goat is from, but we like to see him here.

To all of you,
From Letty with love

Both songs are derived from the same original music, or something like that, letty.

Carol Channing and Pearl Bailey are great together.

Ed,saw this in the newspaper last night....
"Nelson was arrested for marijuana possession in Texas in November.Hudspeth County prosecutor Kit Bramblett has agreed to let him off with a small fine.He added "He's also got to sing Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain,in Court,with his guitar! You bet your a** I ain't going to be mean to Willie Nelson."
Nelson had 6oz of the drug but prosecutors said that with no packaging,it weighed less than 3oz - making it a misdemeanour.Prosecutor Bramblett joked that he had smoked some of the missing 3oz."
Really hope someone gets that performance on video!....

Good morning to all of our contributors on WA2K radio.

edgar, thanks again for your comments and your goodnight song by Brook was great. Also understand your comment concerning "Scarborough Fair" better now.

Hey, Brit. Fantastic song by Jackie DeShannon. Windows and Doors is a great expression for the art of love. Hope your working hours are leveling out now.

Dear Willie. He could sing his way out of anything. Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain is one of my favs.

There has been a hoax being spread on the net that Jackie Chan is dead. No way! He is alive and well and performing. Guess my favorite by him was The Rush Hour series.

Here's a tribute to the man who can speak several languages and is a fine martial arts guy.

Chan seems to me like a good guy that will go to any lengths to entertain his fans. I like that he does his own stunts, but I would caution him to take it a bit easy as he ages.

I heard on the evening news that Willie Nelson will just pay a $300+ fine and will not have to sing after all.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, by making comments on what we play here on WA2K, it brings our radio to life. Thanks, Texas.

Wow! Paul Butterfield's Blues Band is great. All the Blues made me want to get up and dance. Thanks for that one from East-West.

Ah, sorry that Willie had to pay $300.00. Do you think he can afford it?

Today is Astrud Gilberto's birthday, so here is a tribute to her.

@Letty,
Howdy Folks,
Brilliant tunes as usual.
Barry's Jackie Deshannon & Willie (pothead) Laughing Nelson were great.
Paul Butterfield band, new to me, but excellent!. Judy Collins too.
Touching piece with Glen Campbell & his daughter, lucky man to
have such a big family.

Gypsy.

@eurocelticyankee,
Irish, thanks again for your comments. Love that Gypsy by Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac. I recall having thought she was a guy.

Ah, Gypsy violins. Here's James Last, euroGeorge.

watched the first part of South Riding, a very interesting British drama, the story takes place in a small community in the 30's, struggling to shake off the effects of WWI and the economic depression the villagers must also confront the future as times and ideas change

in the opening episode a newly appointed headmistress attends a performance of a a children's theatrical group, partly to meet some of her soon to be students and to get a look at the village folk

the performance ends with the children singing Keep The Home Fires Burning

here's a version by welsh singer Cerys Matthews

@djjd62,
I know that one, dj. (welcome back) but I think it's because Vera Lynn sang it. Ah, thinking of children singing Keep the Home Fires Burning.

I, of course, know about WWI for two reasons.

First, my dad was in it. Secondly, because I taught about all the wars.

Cerys did a great job. Well, she's Welsh so of course she did. Razz

Here's one of my favorites by Vera. (thanks to Walter for sharing her vocals with me)
