Just read that a judge gave Willie Nelson a choice of getting sentenced for marijuana possession or else singing before the court (Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain). I wonder which he will choose?

Good morning from here in Florida, yawl.

edgar, you hurry back. Love Bobby's Simple Song of Freedom. (your goodnight song) and Pink Shoe Laces is great.

I'll have to ponder over Willie's choice for a bit.

Old Goat, Don't know those two funny guys that made Shirley Bassey's Smoke Gets in you Eyes so funny. Exactly Like You was hilarious. Love Andre Previn and I have seen LSO twice. Yep, I have a Welsh heritage and I've decided that the word for today is "extrudicate".

Hey, Brit. You Hurry back as well. Fantastic to know what a great sense of humor Elvis had, and Green River Melody is really good.

Hope I didn't miss any contributions, as the taffy lady called Letty didn't sleep too well last evening.

Here's one that I love (along with Previn and M&W's Greig. )

Procol Harum, yawl.

And, the classical piece that inspired it.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Love Knights in White Satin by Moody Blues. I had forgotten that one, Texas.

Here's a birthday girl tribute by ABBA. Love them as well.

and a bit of info on Lucy

Lucy Lawless, MNZM (born Lucille Frances Ryan; 29 March 1968) is a New Zealander actress and singer. She is best known for playing the title character of the internationally successful television series Xena: Warrior Princess which ran from 1995 to 2001. She is also known for the role of D'anna Biers (Number Three) on the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica. Most recently she appeared on the television series Spartacus: Blood and Sand and Spartacus: Gods of the Arena as Lucretia, Quintus Lentulus Batiatus' wife.

I recall her best as Xena.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! Don't know that by the Stones, edgar. We do know that Hank moved on, however.

Love this one by Dr. Hook and The Medicine Show.

I do as well, edgar.

Don't know Liam's Girl from the North Country, but a line from the song reminded me of this one.

@Francis,
Well, Francis, you always send me searching. I knew the melody but had no idea that Mariah Carey did your song. Incidentally, Paloma San Basilio is fantastic.

Wonderful fare as usual, loving it all.
Enjoyed Abba, the Stones, Simon & art,Francis's song, Carol & Pearl
and off course the great Liam Clancy. Apparently Dylan & the Clancy
boys knew each other well in the early years.

@eurocelticyankee,
Thanks for the comments, Irish. Loved Bob Dylan's thoughts on Liam Clancey. He was a great vocalist.

I think this ballad was Irish as well, or at least there's an Irish version of it.

Both songs are derived from the same original music, or something like that, letty.
