Good morning from Florida, WA2K folks.

edgar, didn't know your goodnight song by The Exciters, but thanks for the introduction. Hurry back, Texas

Hey, Brit. You hurry back as well. the remember song by Tom was hilarious and I really loved Cathedral Oceans replete with fascinating visuals. Satie and Pachebel were wonderful as well. What a delightful mix of music, London.

euroGeorge, Who can do it better than the Irish from the Emerald Isle. I truly enjoyed the spring music that took us from lady bugs to lovely flowers and bees. Thanks, Dublin.

Today is Sir Elton's birthday, and this is the first song that I heard by him.

Been having a bit of trouble with the foxy one, so I hope this works, yawl.

@Letty,
Good morning Letty.

So it's a happy birthday to Elton. I'll never forget when he got married.
One of the tabloids in England ran a very funny and cheeky headline.

Good one Razz

@eurocelticyankee,
Well, Irish, it's Bela Bartok's birthday, so we'll send this odd classic for two as a birthday wish.

@Letty,
To be honest Miss Letty, that music would not be my cup of tea.

Here's a piece I love from a wonderful romantic movie "Somewhere in time".

@eurocelticyankee,
Hey, Irish. Not to my liking either. As I noted it was odd and it was perfect for the odd couple. I really don't care if Sir Elton is gay. He is a marvelous performer.

Loved Somewhere in time with Christopher Reeve. He became quadripalegic
after being thrown from his horse. He was treated at the University of Virginia's college of medicine where I got my post graduate degree

Today is Aretha Franklin's birthday, and although everyone has done this one, I like her version as well.

live and let live.
I just thought the headline was funny.
Great song by Aretha, Happy Birthday to her and here's hoping
shes doing well.

@Rockhead,
Love that song, Rock. Aretha is not just the Queen of Soul she does jazz as well.

Let's hope she makes it through her terrible illness.

Today is this great conductor's birthday. He introduced classical music to radio. (WA2K radio, of course)

@Francis,
Lovely song of Ireland by Mary Black, Francis. Found this info about the lady.

Mary Black (born 22 May 1955, in Charlemont St., Dublin) is an Irish singer. She is well-known as an interpreter of both folk and contemporary material which has made her a major recording artist in her native Ireland, and in many other parts of the world

Here's another Irish lady singing about a road near Wales.

@Letty,
Great songs from Mary Black and Sinead O'Connor.

Raglan Road is a favorite of mine, here is the definitive
version sung by the late great Luke Kelly.

Here's an extra treat, Luke singing "Scorn not his simplicity"
