@edgarblythe,
edgar, you always make such positive comments here, buddy. Thanks again.

Love the mix that we're hearing on our radio station today.

Love Paul Anka's You Are my Destiny, and the Clancy Brothers doing When the Ship comes in was perfect.

Here's a ship and an Irishman.

First, I'll Sail My Ship Alone.

Now, another Clancy.

I'll Sail My Ship is one of the songs from childhood which has been revived time and again. Always a pleasure to hear it. Clancy Lowered, I also recall from childhood, mostly by Dennis Day.
Billy Vaughn, now.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I think it may be that so many songs have been updated, and those are the ones that we remember, but I prefer the original sometimes.

Your Billy Vaughn song is typical. Loved it! We always did secular programs at the church, and since our director was from the Julliard School of music, it could have been from him.

Then, Music Appreciation in under grad school, may have also thickened the plot of the music. I have also learned a Lot from the folks here on our forum such as Pancho who told me the real title of "Still Born Knowledge", and such as you, Texas.

Here's a great ship song that we'll dedicate to our British buddies.

@edgarblythe,
Fabulous, edgar. I love the originals. Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum is great. Thanks, buddy. (I didn't know it either; just searching again)

I know this one best by Guy Mitchell, but The Weavers give us a different version.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again, edgar, for your comments. I love The Buccaneers. Didn't see that movie, however. Reminds me of an old "trick or treat" joke. Razz

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with another moon. Have no idea who Wally is, but we certainly know Ray Charles

@Barry The Mod,

You know Bazza, I wish Mr Lloyd-Webber's parents had never bothered, personally. But no offence.

I have been enjoying my Singers Unlimited CD recently, and I've ordered another one from Amazon.

Right, back to my bass.

Good morning (here, anyway) WA2K folks.

edgar, Loved Judy and Bobby's song. Thanks again for the comments.

As for Pinetop Perkins, you sent me searching again.

Joseph William Perkins (July 7, 1913 – March 21, 2011), better known by the stage name Pinetop Perkins, was an American Blues musician, specializing in piano music. He played with some of the most influential blues and rock and roll performers in American history, and received numerous honors during his lifetime including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and induction into the Blues Hall of Fame.

Sorry about his demise. Also loved Harry B's Just a Country Boy.

Brit, you may have "wooshed", but I want you to know that I liked the songs from Jesus Christ Superstar. Thanks for the medley.

Fantastic song by Carlos and George, buddy.

McTag, it's fine to disagree here. We call it music appreciation or lack of it.

Speaking of Singers Unlimited. I love that a capella group.

Hope I didn't miss acknowledging anyone.

@edgarblythe,
Love that one, edgar, but I recall it best by The Big Bopper. Thanks again for your comment. Seeing Jerry Lee's piano on fire reminded me of Hank. We will dedicate this to neco nomad. I'll be the paint and power and he can be Hank. Razz

Hey, Rock. I like Howling at the Moon. Had I been a coyote, I would have been howling like mad at the Wonder/Super moon.

edgar, I know Procal Harum best for A Whiter Shade of Pale. Didn't know that one by them, buddy. Like it, however.

Odd, I was thinking of a book that I read so long ago called My Enemy My Friend.

Here's a link for those who are interested.

http://www.vva.org/veteran/0809/books.html

Now they are having a Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington to raise money for the Japanese victims of the Tsunami. The Japanese gave Cherry trees to our country so long ago. I think they were called sakura. I'm really concerned about satt fs.

Strange, when I was a kid in my high school band, we performed at the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester, Va.

Here's a great one to celebrate both occasions.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDjAN8sKb1A

and the lyrics.

It's cherry pink and apple blossom white
When your true lover comes your way
It's cherry pink and apple blossom white
The poets say

The story goes that once a cherry tree
Beside an apple tree did grow,
And there a boy once met his bride to be
Long, long ago

The boy looked into her eyes
It was a feat to enthrall
The breezes started their sighs
The blossoms started to fall
And, as they gently caressed
The lovers looked up to find
The branches of the two trees
Were intertwined

And so that's why the poets often write
When there's a new moon up above
It's cherry pink and apple blossom white
When you're in love.
