Good morning, all. Four Freshmen song is a good one.
My Way is one of those great ones, for sure. Enjoyed the animal pals. Find it hard to believe a turtle could be friends with an animal, though.

Welcome back, Francis. I really love that song by a Frenchman and an American Pet. Razz

Hey, Brit. Remember this by Walt Whitman? "...I think I could turn and live with animals..." Love your beautiful animals slide show. Thanks, London.

edgar, Don't know that one by The Fab Four. Here, there is a vanishing species called the scrub jay. Thanks again for your comment.

Well, folks, I do remember that Frank Sinatra's My Way was written by Paul Anka and thanks to our edgar, we do learn on WA2K.

First, the lyrics to My Way.

And now, the end is here
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and ev'ry highway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way,
"Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way"

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows and did it my way!

Now, a tribute to Paul Anka.

I used to collect Paul's 45s, in the late 50s and early 60s. I still hold him in high regard.

@edgarblythe,
Finally, after an extensive search, I found an original version of I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen. I cannot believe how many folks sang this song, but it was an American song later developed by Ireland.

My dad loved it, and the chords on the piano are difficult to play as it changes keys many times.

I don't recall the artist I heard sing it on the radio for a time, when I was a boy. Some country guy.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, the only song I recall by Buddy Clark is Linda, and that is because my older sister sang it because she was dating a guy called Buddy at the time.

Remember this one, Texas?

@edgarblythe,
The reason that I do updated versions, edgar, is to ascertain why I know songs that I shouldn't know.

Don't know Flaming Star by Elvis. Really liked it, however.

Another star.

@Barry The Mod,
Brit, I love that song from Les Miserables. Stars is beautiful, and that man is fabulous who sings it.

Reminded once again of this poem.

by Walt Whitman
Walt Whitman
When I heard the learn’d astronomer,
When the proofs, the figures, were ranged in columns before me,
When I was shown the charts and diagrams, to add, divide, and measure them,
When I sitting heard the astronomer where he lectured with much applause in the lecture-room,
How soon unaccountable I became tired and sick,
Till rising and gliding out I wander’d off by myself,
In the mystical moist night-air, and from time to time,
Look’d up in perfect silence at the stars.

It's still light here, but I am going to my Florida room and watch for that Super Moon.

Here's one that you'll know, Brit.

Tim Allan is a public relations consultant and was an advisor to Tony Blair from 1992 to 1998. He is the founder and managing director of the Portland consultancy in London, England. Between leaving work within politics and setting up his consultancy he was director of corporate communications at BSkyB.

His political advisor roles were researcher for Tony Blair when he was shadow home secretary, deputy press secretary to Tony Blair, when leader of the Labour Party and from 1997 he was deputy director of communications at 10 Downing Street

Love the parody part.

Thank you all for the great music. Thanks again for your comments, Texas

edgar, The Moon's a balloon was by T.S. Eliot. Amazing. It was lovely as was the Hollow Men.

"...songs that made the hit parade; guys like us we had it made..." Loved June is Bustin' Out All Over.

Hey, Brit. Isn't it amazing that a man of poetry could write a book like Deliverance?

It is way past my bed time, but I was transfixed by that Super Moon hanging out over the South west and hearing the crash of the tide. I had to make myself come inside.

Saying goodnight with Perry Como, yawl.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, edgar and all.

Thanks again for your comments, buddy.

George Strait's Don't Let the Stars Get in your Eyes and Tony's Oh You Crazy Moon were perfect.

Incidentally, the super moon hung over the southeast ocean.

Supposedly, this is the first day of spring, so here is a Celtic song to celebrate the occasion.

Here is a record that is a sort of oddity, done by Gordon McCrae. I don't know if he made another pop song.

Don't know that one by Gordon, edgar, but just found out that he and Kathryn Grayson did The Desert Song.

Another spring song.
