Another big day here in the UK.It's Pancake Day!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!! Celebrating the amalgamation of flour, salt, eggs, milk and water, and melted butter.Or you could just open a packet.Just add your own filling/topping....

Jack Johnson - Banana Pancakes.

You hardly even notice
When I try to show you
this song it's meant to keep you
From doin' what you're supposed to
Like wakin' up too early
Maybe we could sleep in
I'll make you banana pancakes
Pretend like it's the weekend now

And we could pretend it all the time
Can't you see that it's just rainin'
There ain't no need to go outside

But just maybe, Hala ka ukulele
Mama made a baby
I really don't mind to practice
Because you're my little lady
Lady, lady love me
I love to lay here lazy
We could close the curtains
Pretend like there's no world outside
And we could pretend that all the time

Can't you see that it's just raining
There ain't no need to go outside

Ain't no need, ain't no need
Rain all day,I really don't mind

Can't you see, can't you see

The telephone singing, ringing, it's too early
Don't pick it up
We don't need to
We got everything we need right here
And everything we need is enough
It's just so easy
When the whole world fits inside of your arms
Do we really need to pay attention to the alarm
Wake up slow, wake up slow

You hardly even notice
When I try to show you this song
It's meant to keep you
From doin' what your supposed to
Like wakin' up too early
Maybe we could sleep in
I'll make you banana pancakes
Pretend like it's the weekend all the time
And we could pretend it all the time

Can't you see that it's just rainin'
There ain't no need to go outside

Ain't no need, ain't no need
Rain all day and I really, really, really don't mind
Can't you see, can't you see

We've got to wake up slow

Good morning, WA2K folks.

George, Love Jambalaya by Doug. Here's a parody by Homer and Jethro.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eYIa9ZTCLQ&feature=related

Hey, Brit. Thanks for the salute to "Woman's Day". Banana Pancakes? I had blueberry pancakes. Delicious. Also loved your "apples" song. Fiesta reminded me of Marty Robbins' South of the Border.

Hope our edgar had a great time at Tim's concert.

Here's a tribute to a birthday boy.

Hope I didn't miss any song or contributor. Maybe its because I had one too many blueberry pancakes. Razz

@edgarblythe,
Welcome back, edgar, and thanks again for your comments.

Love Once Upon a Time by Tony. Noticed that Bobby and Sandra did that one as well.

Another by Tony, Texas.

The albums Tony made, immediately after the success of I Left My Heart in San Francisco, were some of my favorites, ever. After a few years, it seemed many of his songs were not as well presented and I thereafter started picking the best from the rest. Still a fan.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, love that one by CHUCK and Trini. Razz

Didn't Harry Belafonte do this one?

If Belafonte did Lemon Tree it was in one of the albums he made after he left RCA, I think. I have not heard of him singing it. Trini's version is my favorite.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar The Searchers by Tex Ritter is one that I don't know. He never sounds the same to me.

Time for me to say goodnight a little early. Need to get more sleep, I guess.

Here are two versions of the same song.

Hurry back, all.

edgar, Really enjoyed Seasons of my Heart. It's perfect for "lion like" March.

Rock, thanks for the info on pancake day. I never knew there was such a thing

Blossom Dearie's London in the Rain is intriguing, Brit. Also enjoyed the Hammond Organ songs, especially the last one which swings.

You hurry back as well.

Here is a birthday boy, yawl.

He's a Procol Harum guy.

We'll have an afternoon session later
