Good morning from Florida, yawl. Edgar, thanks again for your comment on the caterpillar. The Beatles Mr. Kite was great. Didn't know that one by them.

I keep being astounded at how good Sammy could sing, and I really love, I Gotta Be Me.

Hey, Brit. Ann's Hangin' On is great advice, and John Hiatt's Tennessee Plates was a great "wake me up" song. That one gets the blood circulating.

Today is a ceiling painter's birthday. Razz Always loved that Italian genius. First, a tribute to his awesome creativity.

A brief tour.

Now, a hymn that I have always loved.

Love that ceiling. The Kings Singers are very good, letty.
Here is Barry Manilow

On the Songs that Tell a Story thread, I dug a little deeper into Stagger Lee. Turns out, Dick Clark did sanitize the song for Lloyd Price, but the unsanitized version got released instead.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comments on what we play here, edgar. Love Mandy by Barry. (no, not our Brit Razz ).

Many people don't like him, but I do because I think he sings well.

Glad that you did more research into that song, incidentally. Thanks, Texas.

Here's one of my favorites by Barry.

I felt a pull toward disliking Barry Manilow, but some of his songs are much too good to allow such an attitude to prevail. Ready to Take a Chance Again is also a good one.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I particularly like John Gary's Once Upon a Time. I love his voice.

Ah, Charlie Rich. Never heard My Elusive Dreams; he was great with that one.

Today is David Gilmour's birthday(Pink Floyd) so here is one by him.

While recognizing Pink Floyd's genius, I don't listen to them a lot. Time consuming. I do like the song you played, letty.

Kim Kardashian released a new song in the last few days. She's catching lots of grief for it. Seems everybody hates it.

@edgarblythe,
Well, edgar, Goofus was rather silly. I like Phil Harris, however.

Today is Lorin Maazel's Birthday and I was stunned to find this by him and Andrea.

I think I hear of bit of Schumann's classical piece, but I cannot locate it.

@edgarblythe,
Don't know the movie from whence cometh the skin song, edgar. Nor do I know that one by The Rollin Stones. Thanks for the introduction.

Here's one that I do know, along with most of the classic legends of Hollywood.

I think Patty is still alive

Didn't know the movie; just the song.

@edgarblythe,
Fantastic one by Joan, edgar, and you sent me searching again.

This may or may not be a loose translation.

They are hearing the confession of the ninth prisoner.
He is praying in the cell with the prison priest,
Because, before the dawn, they are going to take his life
Because he killed an unfaithful friend and his wife.
In his confession he says, "Yes, Father, I killed them,
And if I am born again, I will kill them again.
Father, I do not repent, nor am I afraid of eternity.
I know there is God up in heaven and that He will judge us.
I am going to follow their footsteps into the hereafter.

I know many of The Andrew Sisters songs, too.

Today is "meathead", Rob's birthday, and this is the only TV show that I recall with him in it.
