Granada, I'm falling under your spell,
And if you could speak, what a fascinating tale you would tell.
Of an age the world has long forgotten,
Of an age that weaves a silent magic in Granada today.
The dawn in the sky greets the day with a sigh for Granada.
For she can remember the splendor that once was Granada.
It still can be found in the hills all around as I wander along,
Entranced by the beauty before me,
Entranced by a land full of flowers and song.
When day is done and the sun touch the sea in Granada,
I envy the blush of the snow-clad Tierra Novada,
Soon it will welcome the stars
While a thousand guitars play a soft Carbinera.
Then moonlit Granada will live again,
The glory of yesterday, romantic and gay.
Nice to have Paris and London with us today. Hope our Irishman is all right.
Miss Letty, Granada is a wonderful city and certainly deserves that beautiful song.
Makes me think of this other song:
Thanks to life (written by Violeta Parra)
Thanks to life, which has given me so much.
It gave me two beams of light, that when opened,
Can perfectly distinguish black from white
And in the sky above, her starry backdrop,
And from within the multitude
The one that I love.
Thanks to life, which has given me so much.
It gave me an ear that, in all of its width
Records— night and day—crickets and canaries,
Hammers and turbines and bricks and storms,
And the tender voice of my beloved.
Thanks to life, which has given me so much.
It gave me sound and the alphabet.
With them the words that I think and declare:
"Mother," "Friend," "Brother" and the light shining.
The route of the soul from which comes love.
Thanks to life, which has given me so much.
It gave me the ability to walk with my tired feet.
With them I have traversed cities and puddles
Valleys and deserts, mountains and plains.
And your house, your street and your patio.
Thanks to life, which has given me so much.
It gave me a heart, that causes my frame to shudder,
When I see the fruit of the human brain,
When I see good so far from bad,
When I see within the clarity of your eyes...
Thanks to life, which has given me so much.
It gave me laughter and it gave me longing.
With them I distinguish happiness and pain—
The two materials from which my songs are formed,
And your song, as well, which is the same song.
And everyone's song, which is my very song.
Thanks to life
Thanks to life
Thanks to life
Thanks to life

Morning Ms Letty,Ed and all WA2K folks.I'm hanging on the telephone 'cause Great Grandchild number two (a girl) will arrive soon.
For all Fathers who have had daughters.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=359DDxtd_ss
Bob Carlisle - Butterfly Kisses.
There's two things I know for sure:
She was sent here from heaven and she's
daddy's little girl.
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes and
I thank god for all the joy in my life
Oh, but most of all
For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer;
sticking little white flowers all up in her hair;
"Walk beside the pony, Daddy, it's my first ride."
"I know the cake looks funny, Daddy, but I sure tried."
In all that I've done wrong I know I must
have done something right to deserve a hug
every morning and butterfly kisses at night.
Sweet 16 today
She's looking like her mama a little more everyday
One part woman, the other part girl.
To perfume and make-up from ribbons and curls
Trying her wings out in a great big world.
But I remember
Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer; sticking
little white flowers all up in her hair.
"You know how much I love you, Daddy, But if you
don't mind I'm only gonna kiss you on the cheek this time."
With all that I've done wrong I must have done
something right to deserve her love every morning
and butterfly kisses at night.
All the precious time
Like the wind, the years go by.
Precious butterfly.
Spread your wings and fly.
She'll change her name today.
She'll make a promise and I'll give her away.
Standing in the bride-room just staring at her.
She asked me what I'm thinking and I said "I'm not
sure-I just feel like I'm losing my baby girl."
She leaned over...gave me butterfly kisses with her mama there,
Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair
"Walk my down the aisle, Daddy-it's just about time."
"Does my wedding gown look pretty, Daddy? Daddy, don't cry!"
Oh, with all that I've done wrong I must have
done something right.
To deserve her love every morning and butterfly
kisses-I couldn't ask God for more, man this is what love is.
I know I gotta let her go, but I'll always remember
every hug in the morning and butterfly kisses.
edgar, your goodnight song Hurt by Timi Euro was great. Don't know her, but thanks for the introduction and the comments on what we play here.
Francis, I love that song as well, and your response by Pasion Vega, "Greatful for Life" was perfect. Thanks for your comment as well.
Hey, Brit. Amazing about your new great granddaughter. You are soooo lucky.
Bob Carlisle's Butterfly Kisses was perfect. Used to give my kids those all the time when they were little.
Love the Impressions' Keep on Pushing as was Midge Ure's Breathe.
Jean Michael Jarre's Oxygen 2 and Diana Ross' I'm Still Waiting were fantastic as well.
I recall Diana doing the life of Billie Holiday, but just found out it was not accurate concerning her real life. Lady Sings the Blues was a great movie, however.
Today is Chopin's birthday, so here is a tribute to him.
Hope I didn't miss anyone. If so, I'll blame it on my Cherrios and blueberries.

Congratulations, barry. I reposted your song on facebook.
Good morning all. Have to go to work shortly. See ya all later.
200 Years of Chopin is a nice video, letty.
Didn't mean to imply that I heard Elvis sing that song, but that it has the sound of a song he would have done.
Cuban Pete has a lot of fun, it looks like.
The Greeks have fun also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxqEQOb5Azs
