Thanks, edgar, for your memorial to Jim Reeves. May the Good Lord Bless and Keep you was perfect. Sorry about the gal with The Marvelettes. I always liked Wait a Minute Mr. Postman. Hurry back, Texas. Glad that you enjoyed my goodnight songs, buddy.

Always good to see our Brit here. (You hurry back as well)

Sam Cooke is a favorite of mine, but Doris Troy's version of The Beatles' Get Back to Where you once Belong was fantastic. I remember it best by Billy Preston. Didn't know that Lou Rawls was in the background on that one by Sam.

Today is Sarah McLachlan's birthday, and here is an unusual presentation featuring the love between Lancelot and Guinevere.

Been doing some research on Lewis Carroll. He appears to be a man of mystery.

Here's the real Alice.

@Letty,
Sarah does a fine job of it there, letty.
It somehow seems unfitting that Alice Liddell survived well into the 20TH Century. I always think of her as being from the 19TH Century exclusively.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, you would be amazed at the things I found out about Lewis Carroll. When I was a kid and read Through the Looking Glass and the Wonderland one, I became Alice.

Thanks for that one by Neil, buddy, and the comment on Sarah.

Another birthday boy. First, a little info.

Nickolas Gene "Nick" Carter (born January 28, 1980) is an American singer-songwriter, dancer, musician, entertainer and actor. He is best known as one of the lead vocalists of the pop group, Backstreet Boys. He went on to release a solo album during their hiatus. He has made occasional television appearances and starred in his own reality show, House of Carters. He is also the older brother of singer Aaron Carter

Here are Brian and Nick, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
I like that one by Bob, edgar. Never heard it before, but Covenant Woman was really good.

Today is Alan Alda's birthday, and although we may remember him best for Mash, I was a bit surprised to find out that he can sing. Maybe I just forgot.He plays piano, too? Wow!

Hi. Wandering through. A request:
The Revolution Will Not Be Televised is from Gil Scott-Heron (1970) and relates to Hugo Chavez.
I brought it up on the Obama 2008 thread with reference to the turmoil in Tunisia and now Egypt.

Oops. Yes, that was the video I was I was thinking of. There is a documentary film involving Hugo Chavez called The Revolution Will Be Televised.
What brought it to mind for me was a series of tweets or something written over the past few days by (I assume) a young woman in Cairo. She is no longer able to post but while she was she wrote fairly often about events in Egypt where I spent a couple of months years ago.
Sorry to send yall on a troubling digression.

Edgar, Love that one by Billy Jo Krammer; however you sent me to the archives again. Thanks for your comment on Arthur, buddy.

Billy J. Kramer (born William Howard Ashton, 19 August 1943, Bootle, Liverpool, England) is a former British Invasion/Merseybeat singer. In sharing Brian Epstein as a manager with The Beatles he enjoyed access to the songwriting of Lennon and McCartney, recording several of their original compositions.

No problem, RJB. We're here to help.

Another revolution, folks.

@edgarblythe,
Yep, edgar, I'm with you. Not all of the Fab Four's songs are perfect.

Look Out Any Window was great. Don't know Bruce Hornsby, but I noticed he is a Virginia guy. Thanks for the introduction.

Here's a painter that I never understood, but since it's his birthday, let's listen and watch a tribute to Jackson.
