@edgarblythe,
Great one by Ten Years After, and the visuals were awesome, edgar. That's one of my favorites as well, buddy.

Here's a lovely child singing about changing the world, but first some info.

Lea Salonga-Chien (born February 22, 1971) is a Filipino singer and actress. She is best known for her musical role Kim in Miss Saigon, for which she won the Olivier, Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics and Theatre World Awards.

She was the first Asian to play Éponine as well as the first Asian to play Fantine in the musical Les Misérables on Broadway.and was the singing voice of Princess Jasmine from Aladdin (1992) and Mulan for Mulan (1998) and Mulan II (2004).

@edgarblythe,
She is good, edgar, and thanks again for the comment.

Thirsty Boots by Judy and Eric was fantastic, Texas. You sent me searching again.

In the early 1960s, Eric Andersen was part of the Greenwich Village folk scene in New York.[1] His best-known songs from that time are "Violets of Dawn", "Come to My Bedside" and "Thirsty Boots" (the latter recorded by Judy Collins, amongst others).

In 1964, Andersen made his debut at Gerdes Folk City in a live audition for Vanguard Records. Later that year he performed at the Newport Folk Festival. Coincidentally, on both occasions he was preceded by Jose Feliciano, who was also making his debut performances. In 1966, Andersen starred in the Andy Warhol movie Space. He also took part in the Festival Express tour across Canada in 1970 with the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, The Band and others.

I was hoping our Brit would come back so that we could educate him about David Bowie. Razz

Love this tribute to him.

Truthfully, I am not much of a Bowie fan, but I listen to a few of his songs now and then. The tribute is well done.

@edgarblythe,
Great one by Donovan, edgar. Trying to recall who had the epithet of Geraldine. Some comedian, I think.

I'm with you on David Bowie. The one that I really love is his portrayal of The Goblin King in Labyrinth.

Driving on A1A today, I find that I am still amazed at the beauty of the ocean, so I thought that I'd play one by Billy.

Here's a song about that era.

@Letty,
I think Miss Letty, It's about the futility of war and it mentions the
Christmas truce when the soldiers stopped fighting.
My Grandfather also fought in WWI, with the British navy.
I used to love listening to his stories.
Bless Em All.
Enjoyed listening to Joan. You're one wouldn't play Letty.

Here are the lyrics.

Remember boy that your forefather's died
Lost in millions for a country's pride
Never mention the trenches of Belgium
When they stopped fighting and they were one

A spirit stronger than war was at work that night
December 1914 cold, clear and bright
Countries' borders were right out of sight
They joined together and decided not to fight

All together now, all together now
All together now in no man's land (together)
All together now (all together), all together now (all together)
All together now (together, together)
In no man's land (together, together)

The same old story again
All those tears shed in vain
Nothing learnt and nothing gained
Only hope remains

All together now, all together now
All together now in no man's land (together)
All together now (all together), all together now (all together)
All together now in no man's land (together)
All together now (all together now), all together now (all together now)
All together now (together, together)
In no man's land (together, together)

The boys had their say, they said no (all together now)
Stop the slaughter, let's go home
Let's go, let's go (all together now)
Let's go (all together now), let's go home
All together now (together, together)
In no man's land (together, together)
All together now (all together now), all together now (all together)
All together now (together, together)
In no man's land (together, together)

@eurocelticyankee,
Goodnight, dear George. Thanks for the lyrics to the Farm song. Just found out that Johnny Doughboy Found a Rose in Ireland was a WWII song; certainly didn't know that.

Here are the lyrics:

Johnny Doughboy Found A Rose In Ireland

John-ny Dough-boy sailed a-way,
And it was his luck-y day,
E-ven though the skies were gray a - bove,______

On that isle a - cross the sea,
John-ny's mak-ing his-to-ry
With his Yan-kee doo-dle arms of love.____

Refrain
John-ny Dough-boy found a rose in Ire - land,___
Sure the fair-est flow'r that Er-in ev-er grew,___
Oh the Blar-ney in her talk,
Took him back to old New York,
Where his moth-er spoke the sweet-est blar-ney too.___

John-ny Dough-boy found a rose in Ire - land,____
And she stole his heart with smil - in' eyes of blue,____
He said "Dar - lin' 'tis my du-ty,
To make an A-mer - i - can beau-ty,
Of a sweet Ir - ish rose like you."

WW II, 1942
Words and Music by Al Goodhart and Kay Twomey

Loved Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl, and here's one to match.

Enjoyed the Van Morrison songs. I hear Brown Eyed Girl on the radio quite a bit. I didn't know the one about finding a rose in Ireland.
