I was always a big fan of Bobby Darin. When he recorded the album That's All, which included Mack the Knife, it just drove my adoration of his music through the roof.

Thin Lizzy are an Irish hard rock band who formed in Dublin, Ireland, in 1969. The two founding members, drummer Brian Downey and bass guitarist/vocalist Phil Lynott met each other while still in school. Lynott, with an engaging and charismatic personality, took up the role of frontman and speaker for the band and led them throughout their recording career of thirteen studio albums. Thin Lizzy are best known for their songs "Whiskey in the Jar", "Jailbreak" and "The Boys Are Back in Town", all major international hits still played regularly on hard rock and classic rock radio stations. After Lynott died, various incarnations of the band have emerged over the years culminating in the most stable line-up based around guitarists Scott Gorham and John Sykes, however Sykes left the band in June 2009.

Loreena Isabel Irene McKennitt, CM, OM, (born February 17, 1957) is a Canadian singer, composer, harpist, accordionist and pianist who writes, records and performs world music with Celtic and Middle Eastern themes. McKennitt is known for her refined, warbling soprano vocals. She has sold more than 14 million records worldwide.

We'll dedicate Mystic Dream to ehBeth who is a belly dancer, and from her Irishman, I learned about the "black Irish".

The term Black Irish is used in the United States, Great Britain, Australia, and Canada to describe individuals of Irish ancestry who have features which are darker than stereotypical Irish features — blue or green eyes, fair hair, and pale skin. Irish individuals with dark hair and eyes are often referred to as Black Irish and are understood to have Iberian ancestors.

Anyone remember Rita Hayworth?

Here is Salome(pronounced Sa lo May) where she danced.

Hey, Brit. Loved Cleo's Sand Dance. It was fun to watch. Thanks, London.

edgar, I can barely remember that Dance of the Seven Veils meself. (it's Biblical too) I liked the old movies better than the new. That's why I went searching.

How about some Scottish dancing now, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I loved Running Scared by Roy Orbison. For some reason, he looks like this guy.

http://www.celebrityring.info/images/pictures/Anthony-LaPaglia-2.jpg

Watched an episode of Without a Trace the other night, and it was eerie. Somehow, Anthony was having problems with his past and kept seeing visions of former family members. He stood on a building and plunged off, but the next scene showed him awakening. It was all a dream of identity. The theme that was played was this one.

I know about Without a Trace, but have never watched it.
I will comment on Chopin in the morning. Have not listened to it yet.
I just found out that Barry Manilow wrote the Nationwide insurance slogan "and like a good neighbor." He must have started out in advertising.

Ellen McLain - Still Alive.

This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.
Aperture Science
We do what we must
because we can.
For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who are dead.
But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are still alive.
I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart.
And killed me.
And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece into a fire.
As they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you!
Now these points of data make a beautiful line.
And we're out of beta.
We're releasing on time.
So I'm GLaD. I got burned.
Think of all the things we learned
for the people who are still alive.
Go ahead and leave me.
I think I prefer to stay inside.
Maybe you'll find someone else to help you.
Maybe Black Mesa
THAT WAS A JOKE.
HAHA. FAT CHANCE.
Anyway, this cake is great.
It's so delicious and moist.
Look at me still talking
when there's Science to do.
When I look out there, it makes me GLaD I'm not you.
I've experiments to run.
There is research to be done.
On the people who are still alive.
And believe me I am still alive.
I'm doing Science and I'm still alive.
I feel FANTASTIC and I'm still alive.
While you're dying I'll be still alive.
And when you're dead I will be still alive.
STILL ALIVE

Good early morning, WA2K folks.

Wow! more synchronicity. Secrets and Lies reminded me of the book The Bad Seed. Just watched the movie on TCM. Fantastic plot and perfect ending.

Hey, Brit. Don't know Mary Wells song, but she was fantastic. Thanks for the introduction.

edgar, I am delighted with Harry's tribute and it's great to know that he is still with us. Thanks, Texas.

Strange, Robert Redford is also with us. One to match Creedence Clearwater's song.

Love the Raindrops song, y'all.

Today is Sam Cooke's birthday. What a strange fate he met with, and his death is still in doubt.

A tribute to the man.

Hope I didn't miss anyone. If I did, I'm certain each one of you will understand. If not, I'll just blame it on the dark. Razz

Well I finally listened to Chopin. Barry, I like Mary Wells and the other videos you played. Never saw the film you linked to. letty, I can't hear Raindrops song without recalling the neighborhood ice cream man. He plays that song incessantly all summer long. Happy 80TH birthday to Sam Cooke.
