@edgarblythe,
My word, edgar. I thought that the only one who did that was Kenny Rogers. Thanks for that version and your comments on Enrico.

Time for me to say goodnight, and although I am not certain that Martin Luther King, Jr. took his name from this man, I like the song.

Nice to have all of you with us this evening,

Goodnight world,

From Letty with love

Good morning from our Florida studio, all.

edgar, that one by Peggy Lee always reminds me of the epicurean guy:

"Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we may die".

Thanks again for your comments, buddy. Actually, Martin Luther never intended to leave the Roman Catholic church, just reform some of its practices.

Welcome back, Brit, and you and edgar hurry back.

Don't know Jane Horrocks, but she appears to be one talented lady. Thanks for the introduction. Always have enjoys Babs' The Way We Were, and Cleo Laine is a fine jazz artist. The whistle song was great.

Today is Danny Kaye's birthday, and I just discovered that he was born to Russian Jewish parents. What a talent. I remember him best for Hans Christian Anderson, but this one by him a Harry is awesome.

Also one by Steely Dan, y'all.

G'day WA2K.
"Is that all there is " is a great song and Peggy Lee does
it best.
Barbara & Cleo were great. I loved that piece on Jane Horrocks,
what a girl, I loved "Little Voice".
Danny & Harry were great, Danny was a really funny guy.
Steely Dan are a great band, giants.

Greetings WA2K listeners/On Air Personalities

Letty, thanks for the b day info re Danny Kaye. If his career consisted of nothing but “Mommy I Want a Drink of Water” that would be enough for me.

Thanks for Steely Dan..They always had a unique jazz/rock sound. And what a catalogue of top ten singles…

Edgar, your Peggy Lee offering prompted me to follow your lead

Thanks again to all of you for your comments on the music that we played here.

euroGeorge, couldn't get Saints and Sinners to play here. I'll check it out later. Well, well. I see Ticomaya praises the Irish at the Olympics. That's a great tribute.

tcb, great to see you as well. Don't know that Peggy Lee cocktail, buddy.

Here's one for the Irish, and one to match Peggy Lee.

First, The High Kings.

Now, one of my fav's by P.L.

Harry and Danny were great friends and shared causes. When Danny gave up his post with UNICEF, he prevailed on Harry to take over.

My reply re Peggy Lee was not clearly worded. "Cats" was the one I said I had not heard before. I like all of her music with a few rare exceptions.
