@edgarblythe,
edgar, that was one fantastic song by Jackie Cooper. I have only heard it by Nat Cole. Thanks, buddy, for the memory.

Time for me to say goodnight, and this was sent to me by my friend from Northern Ireland. He said that it was the coldest winter for 25 years, -18 in Castlederg last night, a new record low.

His screen name was smokin gun

Good morning all at WA2K, at this ungaodly hour, up since 5 catching up, got to get on on the road soon.
Barry really enjoyed the video of London, my home town for 6 years, a trip down memory lane, I see chaos over there at the moment at Heathrow, if I was still living there I'd be in Heathrow now myself as I used to travel home for xmas every year, what a nightmare. I enjoyed James Brown, god that guy could spin on a penny and Aretha, queen of soul. That was a lot of tapping first thing in the morning Laughing .
Letty, enjoyed Bing and James, Papas got a brand new bag, one of his best. Never really heard much of Alvin before, very like Clapton or maybe that should be the other way around, Loved Joan, she's great. Gabriels Oboe, sublime. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, best kids film ever made, wasn't Disney so didn't get the credit it deserved, I'm sure I'll be watching it this Xmas. Audra McDonald was wonderful and beautiful, another new one for me. Same can be said for Jane Monheit. Crosby Stills & Nash, old favourites. I hmmm like Will Ferrell, my son thinks he's hilarious, but like most of the comedy movies I see these days, well there just not funny, I liked him in Stranger Than Fiction. Mind you I have to laugh at one recent comedy, Babys Day Out, now that was funny. Well not so recent.

The fourth wise man was nice. An Irish blessing, a great advert for Ireland, lovely.
Excellent video and a fine bit of music from Izzie, brrrrrrr, foot tapping.
Ed enjoyed Black Forest And Our winter love, nice music. Mr Lightfoot, always good. Judy Collins, new to me, nice. Loved the clip from Robin & the seven hoods, great movie and Sammy d singing. The age less Dick Van Dyke, he'll outlive us all. Yet another first, Johnny Ace, brilliant, great voice. Enjoyed good ol Willie Nelson And Johnny Cash, two of the all time greats. Dolly superb as always.
Beth, Jill Cooper, she's great, I'd never heard her before, nice and The Good Lovelies were, well just Lovely Very Happy
ok folks 7.10 time to go to work, but it was a nice way to start the day, loads of tunes to hum all day, take care ye'all. Keep tapping.

edgar, Rex Allen? Didn't realize that he narrated Charlotte's Web.

First, a bit about his death.

Rex Allen died on December 17, two weeks before his 79th birthday in Tucson, Arizona, of a massive coronary, causing him to collapse in the driveway of his home. He suffered additional injuries when his caretaker accidentally ran over him in the driveway. Cremated, his ashes were scattered at Railroad Park in Willcox where most of his memorabilia is on display. A few months before his death, Allen gave an extensive interview on his days at WLS-AM to announcer and producer Jeff Davis for the 75th Anniversary History of WLS radio program, broadcast after Allen died. That segment of the program was dedicated to his memory.

What a fabulous voice he had. Loved The Last Roundup. Hurry back, buddy.

Trailer from Charlotte's Web.

Hey, Irish. Welcome back, and thanks again for all those comments. Baby's Day Out was funny. Thanks for that one.

Today is Frank Zappa's birthday, so here is a song by him.

I saw Rex Allen at the San Antonio rodeo, when I was twenty two years old. He and Anita Bryant performed. Rex had a talented horse (named Koko, I think). Anyway, I will comment on the rest later today.

@edgarblythe,
Hurry back, edgar. No wonder I didn't see the lunar eclipse. It occurred at one a.m. Rolling Eyes

Guess we'll have to make do with Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart.

That's the first time I heard Zappa do a song he himself had not written. I like Bonnie Tyler's song.
Got some Sophie B Hawkins this afternoon.

Hello Wa2K, how are ye all.
Another hard day at the office. This weather, it took me an hour and a half to get home tonight, a journey that would normally take 20 minutes, ridiculous. This weather seems to be bringing parts of Europe to a standstill. Airports all over Europe closed, real hardship on people trying to get home for Christmas.
Frank Zappa's birthday , I remember I used to find a song of his amusing about him wanting a little Jewish Princess, ha. Enjoyed Bonnie.
Sophie B had the lyrics but I couldn't sing along with that Ed Laughing
John McCormack A legend.
Another new one, Brook Benton, nice." Deep Voice, YEAHhhh"

The Corrs, Andrea, Caroline, Sharon & yer man Laughing

edgar, Love that one by Brook. I don't know A Matter of Time, but it was great

Welcome back, Irish, and thanks for YOUR comments.

Aha, I think I know why I know John McCormack. Just as I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen, it was my daddy's.

Wow! The Coors Runaway was excellent. Love that Irish violin, etc. Thanks.

I had to laugh at the disgruntled Siberian official today, at his response to all the radio & TV stations here & in Britain saying " it is like Siberia over here at the moment" to which he replied " it;s nothing like Siberia here, in Siberia we keep our airports open, we keep our trains & public transport operating, we keep our water running & our traffic flowing and our people don't have to walk on the roads because we even keep our footpaths clear, so it is nothing like Siberia here". Touche and well said comrade. Highlighting the inadequate & poor response from the authorities in Europe.

Anyhoo, bit of nostalgia, a sad tribute to Phil Lynott I found on the tube. phil the consummate rock star.

Ha when I was 14 & 15 years old I used to have my hair permed like Phil, just remembered.

Today is Kiefer Sutherland's birthday, so here is a biography in song to him, y'all.
