edgar, loved your goodnight song. A Walk in the Black Forest has always been one of my favorites. Hurry Back, buddy, and thanks once again for your comments.

Hey Brit. Never heard Ray Davies, but that London song was a virtual tour. Fantastic, buddy and thanks for the introduction.

Awakened this morning with this song in my head.

James Brown - Soulful Christmas.

I ain't talkin'
Just to tease
People like you
You don't grow
On dreams
Look at you
That's what
It's gonna be
Have everything
I need
Around my soulful
Christmas tree

Merry Christmas
Happy New Year
I love you
Have good cheer
I love you
Good God

Got my baby
My precious love
Happiness, good God
I got plenty of
Would you believe
I got peace of mind
And I'll be groovin'
At Christmas time

Merry Christmas
Happy New Year
May you have
A good cheer
I love you
James Brown love you
You lucky so and so
Maceo
Brother love

Soulful Christmas
Like a sweet melody
I'm a lucky
So and so
The bells
Gonna ring for me

Merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
To all of my fans
Have a good cheer
I love you, I love you
Won't take nobody else
I can't stand myself
Huh, good God

I got a heart
Full of love
For the whole wide world
And a little special love
For a soulful girl
I got this feelin' every
Every now and then
Gotta get ready
Bring the New Year in

Merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
All good cheer
There's one more thing
You've been
So nice to me
Down through the years
And I'll always
Remember you
Well
I'll never forget

You bought my records
Come to see my show
That's why
James Brown love you so
You come to see my show
That's a debt
That I'll always owe

Come to see my show
See you at Christmas
Come to see my show
See my show
Letty

@Letty,
The one by Hugo Winterhalter was not bad, either.
I like Bing's Do You Hear What I Hear as much as his White Christmas.

Enjoyed both of the James Browns and Aretha. It seems to me that there is less grousing about Christmas this year, from those who don't really want it to happen. I am gratified.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Thanks again for your comments on what we play here. Our Winter Love was fantastic, and the visuals were so calming. I listened twice, buddy.

Today is Alvin Lee's birthday, and because many of us may not know him, here is a bit of info on the man.

Alvin Lee (born Graham Barnes, 19 December 1944, Nottingham, England) is an English rock guitarist and singer. He began playing guitar at the age of 13, and with Leo Lyons formed the core of the band Ten Years After in 1960. Influenced by his parents' collection of jazz and blues records, it was the advent of rock and roll that sparked his interest, and guitarists such as Chuck Berry and Scotty Moore provided his inspiration.

Slow Blues in C (ah, that's my kind of key)

@edgarblythe,
I love The Red Rosy Bush by Harry, edgar. I tried my best to find I Wish I were an Apple on a Tree, but no luck.

Instead, how about The Riddle Song.

Good song by Joan. But then I like most of her songs.

Most of Gordon Lightfoot's hit songs wear thin for me after a while. I like him best for songs such as this

edgar, That was a great Gordon Lightfoot song. Never heard that on by him. Thanks, Texas.

ehBeth Welcome back. That was one fantastic song by Jill Barber. Was that the holy ghost sitting on the bed? Razz

Oh, my, my. That doctor tried, but he couldn't fix her broken heart. Don't know Jill, but thanks for the introduction.

When I was little and saw the verse, "...from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.." I thought quick meant rapid.

For our Roman Catholic friends, here is a lovely hymn.

Ah, remember Andrea Bocelli singing that from the movie The Mission?

Thanks again for you comment, edgar. Love Judy Collins, of course, and that Serve Somebody was great. Wish I could have gone to see her at Peabody Auditorium.
