Thanks, Jes and Izzie. Both of you read my mind. Love Radio by Elvis and thanks for the dedication. That trio of Crazy is great. I know you're recovering, hun, and that makes me feel good.

I chose this one because both Jes and I have a contralto voice. She and Elvis C. have something in common as well.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again, edgar, for your comments. Never heard that one by "the king".

Hope it's not going to be a tea party and hope it will be "scot-free". Razz

Thinking of Mr. Como right now, so here is one by him.

Beverley Knight & Jocelyn Brown - I'm Every Woman.

I'm every woman
it's all in me

anything you want done baby
I'll do it naturally.
I'm ev'ry woman
it's all in me

I can read your thoughts right now
everyone from A to Z.

I can cast a spell of secrets you can tell
mix a special brew
put fire inside of you.
Any time you feel danger or fear
instantly I will appear
'cause

I'm every woman
it's all in me

anything you want done baby
I'll do it naturally.

I can sense your needs like rain unto the seeds
I can set a rhyme of confusion in your mind.
And when it comes down to that good old-fashioned love
that's what I've got plenty of baby.

I'm ev'ry woman
it's all in me

anything you want done baby
I'll do it naturally.

I'm ev'ry woman
it's all in me

I can read your thoughts right now
everyone from A to Z.

I ain't braggin'
'cause I'm the one
you just ask me
ooh
and it shall be done.
And don't bother to compare
'cause I've got it.

I'm ev'ry woman
I'm ev'ry woman
I'm ev'ry woman

And,at this festive time of year, here's a public service announcement from The Wonder Man....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MO5nXP3JAI&feature=related
Stevie Wonder - Don't Drive Drunk.

He and his wife have had problems
That he's played off like nothing's wrong
'Til he comes home from work early
Just to find the girl is gone
Oh but he gets into the cupboard
Picks out that bottle of gin
Drinks like there's no tomorrow
And decides to take a spin

No don't drive drunk
Don't drive drunk, no
Don't drive drunk
Mothers Against Drunk Drivers are madd

Teenager at a live party
Says, "give me one for the road"
But he's already so inebriated
If you lit a smoke he'd explode
But bartender says, "I don't think so"
Young one says, "I can deal"
Staggering out he says,
"check you all later"
But I really don't think he will

No don't drive drunk
Don't drive drunk, no
Don't drive drunk
Mothers Against Drunk Drivers are madd
[Repeat]

[Background]
Don't drive drunk
d-d-d don't drive drunk
Don't drive drunk
Hicup
[repeat]

Boy out with girl on their first date
Gets pulled over by the law
Officer says, "hey can't you drive straight
or have you been drinking alcohol?"
Boy says, "man are you crazy?"
Cop says, "hey then walk this line"
But results from the breathalizer
Proves he's charged with D.U.I.

No don't drive drunk
Don't drive drunk, no
Don't drive drunk
Mothers Against Drunk Drivers are madd
[Repeat]

[Background]
Don't drive drunk
d-d-d don't drive drunk
Don't drive drunk
Hicup

Good morning from Florida and good afternoon to London and Paris.

Hey, Brit. Really enjoyed I'm Every Woman by Beverly and Jocelyn. Thanks for the introduction.

Love Stevie Wonder of course, but I had no idea he did that song Don't Drive Drunk. Thanks!

Ah, Francis, Maureen McGovern's Very Special Love was awesome.

Two songs for this morning.

First, one from Maureen that I love.

Now, a birthday boy that makes me rather blue.

Hope our edgar enjoyed his party and will be back with us today.

@Letty,
The amazing thing is how some songs just resonate into your inner core..

@Francis,
Yeah--thousands. Music is a strange thing Francois. It has its crazy side you know. Pop songs are short so nobody goes over the top with them like some do with other stuff. I've heard various versions of Mr Tambourine Man and wished it would go on forever. Or at least until biology gets the better of it.

There's a theory that it's something to do with sensing a "real presence" as George Steiner called it. Darwin is supposed to have had no taste for music in his later years. From a scientific point of view it's just a cacophony of frequencies within the receptivity range of the human ear made by nutheads scraping horsehair across tight wires, tapping their finger ends on ivory surfaces, blowing through advanced versions of what kids do blowing between two leaves of grass and thumping on similarly advanced methods of banging on a pan with mum's baking spoon. What else can you say from a scientific point of view?

If it can "resonate into your inner core" there are two possible reasons I suppose. Your getting off your social status by appreciating music written for the level just above where you are, the narcissistic approach, or you are getting near to the "oceanic feeling" and sensing the "real presence". The latter is facilitated by narcotics such as incense.

How can it be "amazing" to an evolutionist? Anymore than a toe-nail? Or a mantis's sting. How do you think this "resonating" into your inner core evolved ? And the resonating being different for different people around the world. If it is. A cultural conditioner but so refined that two people can be brothers and have separate resonators. And often dispute about them. And some people having no resonators. Like scientists.

I used to organise the annual dance for about 100 scientists and their wives. The Christmas do. I used to put The Monkey and the Funky Chicken on at the end of the evening, apart from the National Anthem, to watch them trying to resonate.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the lord. A troupe of fat black mammas singing that whilst swaying and clapping their hands to the beat resonates for me.

Are you a Jungian?

@Letty,
Good morning radiofolk. I am about to have breakfast, but want to post a song first.

I don't recall Blue Room, but Perry is always worth a listen.
And Shirley Bassey has such a great voice and delivery - like her a lot.
Here are Odetta and Harry Belafonte

@spendius,
Welcome back to WA2K radio, spendius. I feel that you are talking about synchronicity.

Jes, I love Robbie Williams. That song was awesome.

Here's one to match.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VofLbnNronk

and, y'all, the lyrics.

FEELINGS (Morris Albert)

Feelings, nothing more than feelings,
trying to forget my feelings of love.
Teardrops rolling down on my face,
trying to forget my feelings of love.

Feelings, for all my life I'll feel it.
I wish I've never met you, girl; you'll never come again.

Feelings, wo-o-o feelings,
wo-o-o, feel you again in my arms.

Feelings, feelings like I've never lost you
and feelings like I've never have you again in my heart.

Feelings, for all my life I'll feel it.
I wish I've never met you, girl; you'll never come again.

Feelings, feelings like I've never lost you
and feelings like I've never have you again in my life.

Feelings, wo-o-o feelings,
wo-o-o, feelings again in my arms.
Feelings
