@Barry The Mod,
Little Big Town was great, Brit, as was Bad Angels.

Perhaps the mooseman needs a new vehicle.

@Barry The Mod,
Ah, Brit, I used to have one of those. I recall driving that "hippie" bus and passed a bunch of kids who were the same, and gave them the peace sign and yelled "love". My son was very embarassed by that and told me to keep my mouth shut and my hands in my lap. Razz

How about Ship to Shore.

Roger Waters - The Tide Is Turning

I used to think the world was flat
Rarely threw my hat into the crowd
I felt I had used up my quota of yearning
Used to look in on the children at night
In the glow of their Donald Duck light
And frighten myself with the thought of my little ones burning
But, oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning
The tide is turning

Satellite buzzing through the endless night
Exclusive to moonshots and world title fights
Jesus Christ, imagine what it must be earning
Who is the strongest
Who is the best
Who holds the aces
The East
Or the West
This is the crap our children are learning
But oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning
Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning
The tide is turning
Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning

Now the satellite's confused
'Cause on Saturday night
The airwaves were full of compassion and light
And his silicon heart
Warmed to the sight of a billion candles burning
Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning
Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning
The tide is turning Billy

I'm not saying that the battle is won
But on Saturday night all those kids in the sun
Wrested technology's sword from the hand of the war lords
Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning
Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning
The tide is turning Sylvester
Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning
Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning
Oh, oh, oh, the tide is turning
...
Climbing them apples.
Laters WA2K.
Down and gone.
Woosh!

@Letty,
Thanks for finding out about the Richard Burton music.
Leonardo de Caprio is a pretty good actor. I like a few of his films.
The veterans video is a good tribute.

Thanks once again, edgar, for your comments on what we play here.

I usually love a parade, but the one that you showed should end and sometimes soon, methinks.

A little info on Veteran's Day:

The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

That was the moment at which World War I largely came to end in 1918. One of the most tragically senseless and destructive periods in all history came to a close in Western Europe with the Armistice -- or end of hostilities between Germany and the Allied nations -- that began at that moment. Some 20 million people had died in the fighting that raged for more than four years since August 1914. The complete end of the war came with the Treaty of Versailles in June 1919.

The date of Nov. 11 became a national holiday of remembrance in many of the victorious allied nations -- a day to commemorate the loss of so many lives in the war. And in the United States, President Wilson proclaimed the first Armistice Day on Nov. 11, 1919. A few years later, in 1926, Congress passed a resolution calling on the President to observe each November eleventh as a day of remembrance.

It's been a long day(no, not The Longest Day) so I think both you and I should go to bed early.

For our Izzie and her sister, we are still thinking pink, so here is my goodnight song. More serendipity as I did not know this lovely vocalist existed.

Goodnight from Letty who is remembering all who served in war, regardless of how we despise it.

love to all.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K and edgar. Loved our Brit's "down and gone song". Reminds me of "he Tide Rises; The Tide Falls."

Loved that Teddy Bear song, buddy. Rather reminded me of a song I used to listen to and cry. It went something like, His name they called him Willie Roy. He was just a little crippled boy. That's all that I can remember.

Well, today is Neil Young's birthday, and another surprise. He was a canuck from Toronto.

Heart of Gold, y'all.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wA5gkwLeHfU&feature=related

Now, the poem by Longfellow.

The tide rises, the tide falls,
The twilight darkens, the curlew calls;
Along the sea-sands damp and brown
The traveler hastens toward the town,
And the tide rises, the tide falls.

Darkness settles on roofs and walls,
But the sea, the sea in darkness calls;
The little waves, with their soft, white hands
Efface the footprints in the sands,
And the tide rises, the tide falls.

The morning breaks; the steeds in their stalls
Stamp and neigh, as the hostler calls;
The day returns, but nevermore
Returns the traveler to the shore.
And the tide rises, the tide falls

Incidentally, just heard from my daughter concerning the Bob Dylan concert.

Her one word was AWESOME!

Good morning, radiofolk. I have to say, that Neil Young is one of my favorite people. Heart of Gold is a wonderful song. Well, I got to get ready for work today. We are getting ready for another momentous meeting with the owners, who will be here from California on Sunday morning.

Hey, Brit. I'm Calling Out Your Name was marvelous. Just found out that James Blunt served in Kosovo. I have a funny version of the song Kosovo. Wonderful tribute to your "mate" and it rather reminded me of James Taylor's You've got a Friend.

edgar, don't overdo today. We always enjoy what you play and say, buddy.

Today is Jo Stafford's birthday. First a little info:

Jo Elizabeth Stafford (November 12, 1917 – July 16, 2008]) was an American singer of traditional pop music and jazz standards whose career ran from the late 1930s to the early 1960s. Stafford was greatly admired for the purity of her voice and was considered one of the most versatile vocalists of the era.] She was also viewed as a pioneer of modern musical parody, having won a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album in 1961 (with husband Paul Weston) for their album Jonathan and Darlene Edwards in Paris. She was also the first woman to have a No 1 on the UK Singles Chart.

Here's Jo and Chopin, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
Don't stay away to long, edgar. You know, of course, that I love He Ain't Heavy He's my brother. Thanks again for your comment, Texas.

Looks as though I get to have some fun tonight. Going to Orlando to see this guy in concert:
