Hank Williams has a song about an African American funeral, I used to listen to as a kid. Now that I am grown, I can see how the language and thoughts of people have changed. He meant it to be a respectful song and it is, but the mindset is similar to that of Margaret Mitchell in her tale of Scarlet. I haven't played it because I don't want to offend. I like that one by Marty. But, then I like almost all of his songs.

@edgarblythe,
Love that one by George Harrison, edgar. What is Life I recall.

as to your reference to Hank, I have often noted that everything must be taken in the light of its setting event.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall let Paul Robeson do it for me. This one reminds me of my daughter as a wee thing.

Good Morning America How are you.

Yep, Francis, Old Blue Eyes did it his way. Love the song, however.

Hey, Brit. Love The Clash's London Calling. Tells a rather sad story, however.

The emu attack was funny. Thanks for the smile.

Ah, Connie Francis. Thanks again for the memory.

My word, folks. Snow White and the birds. Here are the English lyrics.

With a song in my heart
I behold your adorable face.
Just a song at the start
but it soon is a hymn to your grace.
When the music swells
I'm touching you hand
It tells that your're standing near, and ..
At the sound of your voice
heaven opens his portals to me.
Can I help but rejoice
that a song such as ours came to be?
But I always knew
I would live life through
with a song in my heart for you.
VERSE 2
Oh, the moon's not a moon for a night
and these stars will not twinkle and fade out,
and the words in my ears
will resound for the rest of my years.
In the morning I find with delight
not a note of our music is played out.
It will be just as sweet,
and an air that I'll live to repeat:
I greet you ...
REFRAIN
With a song in my heart
I behold your adorable face.
Just a song at the start
but it soon is a hymn to your grace.
When the music swells
I'm touching you hand
It tells that you're standing near, and ..
At the sound of your voice
heaven opens his portals to me.
Can I help but rejoice
that a song such as ours came to be?
But I always knew
I would live life through
with a song in my heart for you.

Hurry back, Texas, and once again thanks for your comments.

My friend Bruce who was with us in Birdland, is not well. So here is a song that he played so beautifully.

Also, folks, a tribute to Irving Berlin.

Oops, missed our Brit's Undisputed Truth. Back later to acknowledge.

@Barry The Mod,
That song, Smiling Faces, tells the truth about some folks, Brit. Too bad that so many people are NOT trust worthy, especially politicians.

@Barry The Mod,
Resisting the urge to do apple annie again.

I haven't been afraid of a scary movie since The Exorcist, but I watched one on SyFy not long ago that truly gave me a fright. Can't find it anywhere, but it had to do with a man who kidnapped children who were loved by their family then locked up a deprived of light, etc. He did this because noone had been there for him when his parents were murdered. One of the kid's was named Kyle and he was wild. If anyone here knows about that movie, let me know, because I awakened thinking my two kids were little again and running around unsupervised.

A funny song now, y'all.

While we await a comment on my question and When The Morning Comes, hears a proper song for the day by The Fab Four.

Wow! I just went back in time and saw the discussion about My Way and au revoir and adieu. Francis was correct about those two as he was about My Way.

"My Way" is a song with lyrics written by Paul Anka and popularized by Frank Sinatra. The melody is based on a French song "Comme d'habitude" composed by Claude François and Jacques Revaux. Anka's English lyrics are unrelated to the original French by Claude François and Gilles Thibaut and Anka is credited as a co-composer of "My Way" because he largely re-wrote the song. "My Way" is often quoted as the most remade song in history.

I recall having visited a cemetery in New Bern, North Carolina where I saw a grave marker that was obviously from a French lady that had died there but missed her native country.

The inscription was:

Au Revoir My Belle Francais.

@edgarblythe,
I don't usually do so either, edgar. That one I mentioned was an accident.

Thanks for the Edgar Winter song, buddy. Frankenstein, of course, was not the monster, but the Dr. Razz

Well, I didn't read the news today as the Fab Four sang about, but I watched it on Good Morning America.

I watched the news today Oh Boy.

It included a black college athelete who was shot by police.

A home owner who shot at some thieves who broke into his house.

An airplane pilot who refused to be scanned or strip searched

A child who wore a tiara in a beauty contest.

Another Edgar song. (no, not you, Texas)

Dys used to resemble him, methinks. He is an albino.
