@Letty,
I have A Day in the LIfe by the beatles on a CD that I sometimes play when driving between the job and home. I did not immediately take to Edgar Winter, but I have come to like his music.

@edgarblythe,
I love Leonard Cohen, edgar. He always does mystic songs. Don't know who the lady with him is, however. In My Secret Life is awesome.

Once again, you sent me searching.

“In My Secret Life” is a Leonard Cohen classic that appears on his "Ten New Songs" LP released in 2001. The song is a very melancholic and emotional reflection on the secret life lead by each person in their mind and heart. It also touches on the topic of existentialism, and how difficult it is for people to conquer their inner selves and become the person they aspire to be. Unsurprisingly, it took Leonard Cohen 13 years to perfect the lyrics and come up with the masterpiece that is the final version of the song.

Well, today is "The Divine Miss Sarah's" birthday, so here's some musical history on that lady.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, Rosie the Riveter, edgar. Yep, the women went to work when the men went to war. Beggar's Banquet was great. Thanks again for your comments.

Well, as most of you know, my dad was in WWI. My brother and his first cousin plus my brother-in-law were in WWII.

How about a tribute by Vera Lynn.

My favorite by Dame Vera was Smile Awhile, I bid you sad adieu. (there we go again. Razz )

My grandfather served in WW I. I had uncles in Korea. Two of my brothers got drafted during Vietnam. Not a one of this bunch faced any fighting. What are the odds. I also did not see action, but none was expected. I joined up and was out before Vietnam got hot enough to send non volunteers.

I didn't know that Vera Lynn song, but she did it well.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, buddy. Another great song by Vera Lynn, edgar. Yes, we'll meet again some sunny day. Well, we both come from a military family.

Here's the trailer of Dr. Strangeglove. Peter Sellers was one helluva actor.

@Letty,
I have that movie on VHS. Still play it on occasion. I think it's a masterpiece. Of course, when I saw it in the theater, I was more than a bit naive. It shocked me then.

@edgarblythe,
I was shocked as well, edgar. My friend Bob had to explain it to me.

Thinking tonight of the music we play here on WA2K radio, and it made me think of this one.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with a classic and lyrics that developed from it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8Vrj5RN0Fw

And the lyrics:

Full moon and empty arms,
The moon is there for us to share,
But where are you?
A night like this could weave a memory,
And every kiss could start a dream for two.

Full moon and empty arms,
Tonight I'll use the magic moon to wish upon,
And next full moon,
If my one wish comes true,
My empty arms will be filled with you.

Full moon and empty arms,
Tonight I'll use the magic moon to wish upon,
And next full moon,
If my one wish comes true,
My empty arms will be filled with you.

Goodnight world

From Letty with love and a moon glow.

The moon is still hanging in the sky with it's technicolor ring. Odd it looks rather like a hard boiled egg. Razz

edgar, you hurry back, 'cause I love The Band's When I Paint my masterpiece. Once again, thank you for the comments.

Hey, Brit. Great song by Sir Elton. In the Heart of Every Girl is fantastic. Listened twice in an attempt to hear the riff by Nat. Guess you'll have to identify it for your producer.

Camouflage's Brass Band awakened me properly. Love it! Thanks for the introduction, London.

A couple of songs for the early morning.

First a birthday boy and his funny parody.
