Joan Baez's Manha De Carnaval was great, and it matches A Day in the Life of a Fool.

Indeed, Miss Letty, that was the idea...

Tim Robbins is one of those actors I have a hard time recognizing. But, when I am reminded of his movies, I can say, "Hey. He was great in that."

Good one, too Francis. I like most of her songs.

Well, Francis, that one by Joan, Mi Venganza Personal was obviously Spanish.

Thanks, edgar, for the comment on Tim Robbins. I'm with you, buddy. I had to do a bit of research on the man to recall his movies, etc.

You know more about Bob Dylan than any of us, so was this song by Joan and indication that they were a team at one time?

@Letty,
Joan was very taken with Dylan. His songs said exactly what she wanted songs to say. He criticised her voice for being too pretty. She began having him on stage at her concerts. With God on Our Side was the big number they sang as a duet. But, he was interested in other women, Suze Rotolo, for instance, who appears in some of his songs. He remarked once, "How could I love a face like that (Joan's)?" When he toured England, she went along for the ride. She expected him to have her on stage a few times, the way she used to call on him when she was the big star. But it didn't happen. Dylan married Sarah - don't know her maiden name - When Dylan largely abandoned protest songs, Joan refused for a time to listen to the new ones he wrote. But she finally acknowledged them and recorded many. She said it was a mad scramble on Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue and that Dylan was unpredictable. She wrote a song addressed to him one time, that said, "You have the eyes of Jesus, But the tongue of a viper." I don't know if they still see one another, professionally or otherwise.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for the info on "the jester", edgar.

Wow! Don't know Clifford Harris the rapper, but it seems he did a good thing in spite of all the bad that he has done. "there is so much good in the worst of us; and so much bad in the best of us that it behooves all of us to be more tolerant."

Today is John Mayer's birthday. Don't know this kid, but he ain't bad at all.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the Tennessee man, edgar. Wouldn't you hate to be a "shaker" during tunnel building time? Smile Been through that Big Ben Tunnel, methinks. Have to check it out.

Wow! Not certain I'd want to pay that, Texas, even for "the jester", but thanks for the info anyway.

I was thinking about clear water today as I drove past the ocean, and this song came to mine.

The reference was to Creedence Clearwater Revival.

I had pretty much forgotten Anything Goes, until it popped up in a Harrison Ford film. Great number.

Ah, I love Brother Can You Spare a Dime by Al. It was true then, let's hope it isn't true now, edgar. Thanks for the comment on Anything Goes, buddy.

I will never know why I know this song by Al Jolson, but I love it.
