Hey, edgar. Thanks for This Train by Woody, love it and your comments on what we play here.

Hey, Latin George. How's come you didn't say y'all. Smile

Ah, Fred Astaire and Putting on the Ritz. What a dancer. Thanks, buddy. Guess what I'm gonna play?

This is the jazz version.

Good morning, Latin George and Texas edgar. Smile

edgar, Listened to Venezuelo, Matilda, Baby Blue, and Honeysuckle Rose. Great ones, buddy.

George, Jump in the Line was great, but my favorite was Diablo Rojo. Wow! Those two on acoustic guitars were awesome. Thanks.

My word, this is Biketober Fest here; I've never seen so many tattoos, bandanas, and, and hawgs in my life. Did some "flirting on purpose" again and it was fun.

A couple of songs for the early morning, Y'ALL

First, a wind song.

Now, our poem for today. (poetry is also music)

When I Heard the Learned Astronomer
by Walt Whitman

When I heard the learn'd astronomer,
When the proofs, the figures, were ranged in columns before me,
When I was shown the charts and diagrams, to add, divide,
and measure them,
When I sitting heard the astronomer where he lectured with
much applause in the lecture-room,
How soon unaccountable I became tired and sick,
Till rising and gliding out I wander'd off by myself,
In the mystical moist night-air, and from time to time,
Look'd up in perfect silence at the stars.

and, our word for today.

An anomaly is any occurrence or object that is strange, unusual, or unique. It can also mean a discrepancy or deviation from an established rule, trend, or pattern.

I loved it when edgar said, "calypso rules". That can be taken two ways, of course.

@Barry The Mod,
Hey, Brit. Thanks for the photo's, buddy, but I loved Chris Spedding's Motorbiking.

This is somewhat like the Outback where we ate.

http://www.newbiz.com.ua/pics/fran194/photo3.jpg

It was funny. Some biker and I struck up a conversation then he went inside and got his girl friend. Told her that I was hitin' on him. All of us enjoyed the evening. I had two lobster tails (steamed), a baked sweet potato with all the toppings, and the best salad that I have ever eaten.

The anomaly: The restaurant is not owned by Aussies.

@Barry The Mod,
I had forgotten that you had been to Florida, Brit. Did you know that Benny Goodman was also a classical performer? My word, those folks doing the boogie woogie make it appear as a work out at the gym.

Love this song, y'all. Never heard it before, however.

@Letty,
Will of the Wind is nice. I love Whitman's writing. He also produced some good prose writing, particularly concerning his time helping out in medical facilities of the Civil War soldiers.

"Walt Whitman made dozens of small notebooks from paper and ribbon to carry with him as he visited wounded Civil War soldiers in Washington area hospitals between 1863 and 1865. In them he comments on the food provided at the Armory Hospital. Other notebooks describe the horrors of war. As a volunteer delegate under the Christian Commission, he consoled the sick and dying and often wrote letters to their families. Personal papers form the core of the Library's unsurpassed Whitman collection, augmented by first editions and proofs of his work, Whitman's personal library, pictorial materials, and selected personal effects."

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I loved all that you have played, but I want to test something.

John Denver did a lot of songs with Jaques Cousteau, buddy. If you recall, I found a photo of my Dave on his dad's shoulder. I sent it to Dave while he was in the hospital. I wanted to see if this picture from Firefox works.
