@edgarblythe,
You're right, edgar. Some vocalists just don't manage to keep our ears alert.

Now "old blue eyes" and his Five Minutes More will hold you until the end. I guess it has to do with the power of the voice, or the mood that we are in at the moment.

Speaking of sparrows, y'all. I really like this "guy's" voice.

Yeah, Guy Mitchell. I first noticed him as a kid, when he sang about the pawnshop on the corner. I know and love a number of records by him.

Here is one I always associated with Bing Crosby, but I like this version very much.

@edgarblythe,
Well, you sent me searching again, edgar. I know When the Blue of the Night, but was surprised to find that Russ Colombo died at 26 in a misfired gun accident.

Ruggiero Eugenio di Rodolpho Colombo (January 14, 1908 – September 2, 1934), better known as Russ Columbo, was an American singer, violinist and actor, most famous for his signature tune, "You Call It Madness, But I Call It Love," his compositions "Prisoner of Love" and "Too Beautiful For Words", and the legend surrounding his early death.

Here's one by Neil Diamond that includes the man.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I loved that one by Neil as well. New to me.

Freeze Frame by J. Geils was funny. I love the visuals, too. Thanks, buddy.

To think that I thought these gals were great when I was a kid. Now, I think that I would rather be in the Bermuda Triangle. Smile

First, The Bells, then an oldie that I like, too.

@Letty,
Pleasant Bermuda video.
I know Cruisin Down the River and I know the Crewcuts. Never heard them sing it though.

Love that Barbershop quartet, edgar. Moonlight Bay is great. Thanks again for your comments.

@Letty,
That's got to be my favorite aria, letty.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBn1_Mq8h0c
This song is one of a few that are anthems for me. I have to hear them on a regular basis. The best version of this song is by Joan Baez, but here it is by The Band.

@edgarblythe,
I love that aria as well, edgar.

I love that song, I Shall Be Released, edgar. I noticed in the other comments that Bob Dylan wrote the lyrics. Something rather sad about it somehow.

I do like The Band as you know.

Here's another discovery for me. It's one of those that just popped into my head. Perhaps it's because it is by The Scorpions.

@edgarblythe,
Dear Elvis. Don't know I've Been Traveling Over Mountains, but it was different. Thanks again for your comments, edgar.

Well, it's time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with a fantastic classic. Debussy and his moon. Love it!

@Letty,
Good evening, Miss Letty. I tripped over a new (to me) recording artist last week. I've been listening to him ever since. He's well known in Memphis, but new to me. I'm really enjoying his music.

Played a track by these guys a while back.Here's another....

I Am Kloot - Fingerprints.

If heaven is a place upon your skin
that I may have touched from without to within
then dust yourself of fingerprints and grin
and grin

We don't have to stay
with these people whose ideas
are just what other people say

We can walk away
from these feelings that are filling up
our lives with daze

And I guess that I've been singing all my life
well that's right
and that is fine

I've been spending all your money and your time
well that's right
and that is fine

Cause I don't have to stay
with these feelings that are filling up
my life with daze

I can walk away
from these people whose ideas
are just what other people say

Can I?

And the crowd that is gathered is confused
they're all trembling inside solitude
we've got nothing left to use
we've got all the bullets
but there's no one left to shoot

We can't walk away
from these feelings that are filling up
our lives with daze

We may have to stay
with these people whose ideas
are just what other people say

Can I again?

But if heaven is a place upon your skin
that I may have touched from without to within
well then dust yourself of fingerprints and grin
and grin
and grin

I guess that I've been singing all my life
well that's right
and that is fine

I've been spending all your money and your time
well that's right
and that is fine

Good early morning here WA2K folks.

edgar, I really adore John Lee Hooker. Boom Boom was great, and thanks again for your comments.

Welcome back, Lady squirrel. Wow! Don't know Paul Thorn, but That's Life and Where Was I says so much. Thanks for the introduction.

Well, my, my. Caught our Brit before he wooshed. Fantastic songs, buddy. Warren Zevon's Keep me In Your Heart was so good. It made me feel mellow this morning.

I Am Kloot's Fingerprints was wonderful. It's great to be introduced to "new to me" songs on our cyber radio.

Ah, today is Art Blakey's birthday. Fond memories from "the big apple".

Hope I didn't get mixed up, as the early morning darkness can be confusing.

Smile
