@edgarblythe,
Well, Texas, you sent me to the archives again.

Amazing woman.

Nelly Kim Furtado (born December 2, 1978) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, record producer, and instrumentalist of Portuguese descent.

Furtado came to fame in 2000 with the release of her debut album Whoa, Nelly!, which featured her breakthrough Grammy Award-winning single "I'm Like a Bird". After becoming a mother and releasing the less commercially successful Folklore (2003), she returned to prominence in 2006 with the release of Loose and its hit singles "Promiscuous" ,"Maneater", "Say It Right", and "All Good Things (Come to an End)".

Loved her I'm Like a Bird, Texas.

More birds, y'all.

Time for me to say goodnight (having a few problems of my own right now) and I think that I shall do so with these Byrds. (and horses)

From Letty with love and a bird song

Furtado is known for experimenting with different instruments, sounds, genres, languages, and vocal styles. This diversity has been influenced by her wide-ranging musical taste and her interest in different cultures.

Good morning WA2K folks.

edgar, Ray Charles is one of my favorite musicians, and his You Don't Know me was fantastic. Tom Jones' My Kind of Girl was a great morning song. Thanks again for your comments, Texas, and it is my fondest wish that we are all dear hearts and gentle people.(although we may disagree sometimes)

The Brit followed through with What'd I Say which I sang so long ago. Guitar Slim and his Quicksand said it right. The more one struggles with love, the deeper they sink.

Hard to believe that the man who wrote Deliverance was a poet first. Dueling Banjos was great.

Another dance that may bring tears to our eyes, folks.

The light of day is shinning through my window,
The star hung low on heaven's brink is gone,

It's just as though the day is a crescendo
That sinks into the river like a song.

@edgarblythe,
To Walk Hand in Hand is beautiful, edgar. Roy Hamilton has done some marvelous songs. Wonder how many couples still hold hands? You're right about that fantastic dance by the handicapped couple. I watched and listened several times.

Thanks for restoring the signal to our cyber radio, Texas.

If we could, would we do what Eddie sings about?

@Barry The Mod,
Up too late last night, woosh man. Love all the songs that you played. Had no idea that Brian Wilson did I've Got a Crush on You, nor that Gershwin had written it. What a fantastic composer and performer was George.

Interesting info on this Russian jew, y'all.

Countless singers and musicians have recorded Gershwin songs, including Paul Posnak, Fred Astaire, Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin, Al Jolson, Bobby Darin, Percy Grainger, Art Tatum, Yehudi Menuhin, Bing Crosby, Janis Joplin, John Coltrane, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sam Cooke, Diana Ross, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Hiromi Uehara, Madonna, Judy Garland, Julie Andrews, Barbra Streisand, Marni Nixon, Natalie Cole, Patti Austin, Nina Simone, Maureen McGovern, John Fahey, The Residents, Kate Bush, Sublime, Sting, and Liquid Tension Experiment.

In October 2009, it was reported by Rolling Stone that Brian Wilson is completing at least two unfinished compositions by George Gershwin for possible release in 2010.[50]According to Wilson's Facebook page,the album is scheduled to be released on August 17, 2010.

Baseline Studio Systems announced in January 2010 that Steven Spielberg may direct a biopic about the composer's life, which is scheduled for release in 2012; 32 year-old American actor Zachary Quinto has been confirmed for the leading role of George Gershwin

Last evening was the eve of Yom Kippur, and today is the "day of atonement".

Here is a lovely one in salute of the occasion.
