@edgarblythe,
Loved that one, edgar. That talking dog stole Churchill's cigar.Smile Never saw that show, but the big guy resembles Winston a mite. Be hard to overlook him, right?

Well, we have horses and dogs and a fish (I hope) so let's look them over and not overlook them.

@edgarblythe,
Never heard that one from The Fab Four edgar. Thanks again for your comments. I never heard of that Tom either, but I was making choices and ran across him. Really like that German guy.

Well, just as the Beatles are legendary; here's another legend. What a voice. I loved his part in the duo that you played

We're not through yet, so here is another.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, Old Blue Eyes. He may not have been very nice in life, but he sure could sing, edgar. Day in Day Out was great. Thanks for the special comment about Perry.

Here's one that I put on Izzie's ship. Love this guy's voice too.

Wish we could coax Tai Chi by with us. She sings, ya know.

@edgarblythe,
My word, edgar, I just found out where the song Ruby originated. Smile

Thanks for the comment again. Don't know that one by John with Yoko, but it was lovely as were the visuals. It is obvious that they were deeply in love.

Think that I shall say goodnight with a funny classic. It's a carnival and it's a hint how the man's name is really pronounced.

Goodnight everyone everywhere.

Shirley Bassey - Get The Party Started.

Get this party started on a Saturday night
Everybody's waiting for me to arrive
I got lot of style, check my gold diamond rings
I can go for miles if you know what I mean!

I'm comin' up so you better get this party started
I'm comin' up so you better get this party started

Sendin' out the message to all of my friends
We'll be looking flashy in my Mercedes Benz
I got lots of style, check my gold diamond rings
I can go for miles if you know what I mean
Get this party started on a Saturday night
Everybody's waiting for me to arrive

I'm comin' up so you better get this party started
I'm comin' up so you better get this party started

Pumping up the volume, breaking down to the beat
Cruisin' through the west side
We'll be checkin' the scene
Boulevard is freakin' as I'm comin' up fast
I'll be burnin' rubber, you'll be kissin' my ass
Pull up to the bumper, get out of the car
License plate says Stunner #1 Superstar

I'm comin' up so you better get this party started
I'm comin' up so you better get this party started
Get this party started
Get this party started
Get this party started
Get this party started

Making my connection as I enter the room
Everybody's chilling as I set up the groove
Pumpin' up the volume with this brand new beat
Everybody's dancing and they're dancing for me
I'm your operator, you can call anytime
I'll be your connection to the party line

I'm comin' up so you better get this party started
I'm comin' up so you better get this party started
Get this party started
Get this party started

Dame Shirley Bassey - The Performance Of My Life.

A brave face
Stiff upper lip
Will do the trick
Look
The mask is firm
The face is mine
It seems fine

Until the final day
I'll play this part
The only way I can
For to live
I have to give
The performance of my life

What's the truth ?
Well i won't bore you with the truth
I knew it would be tough
Right from day one
But you go on

Until the final day
I'll play this part
The only way I can
For to live
I have to give
The performance of my life

Made it to the top
Although the road was steep
And there I had a dream
A vision of love
Revealed in sleep

Right on cue
I fell in love with you
You caused many a tear
But I had applause
I had a career

Until the final day
I'll play this part the only way I can
For to live
I have to give
The performance of my life

Good morning, WA2K radio folks.

edgar, Loved The Hollies' On a Carousel. That was my favorite ride at the carnivals, buddy.

Hey, Brit, you may be gone but the songs linger on. Get the Party Started and The Performance of My Life were two great songs by Shirley Bassey. I remember her best for the James Bond themes.

Hurry back, edgar. We need a fix-it man cause....

The Merry-go-round broke down.

and, Texas, inspired by your chamber music, here's a great one.

The woman that I worked with in TV and radio called it "a polite noise". Smile

@Letty,
Well, Letty, we need to celebrate Mexico's Independence day.

Here's a little jazz for this afternoon.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZZqPV4wQmQ&feature=related

Until the return of the natives (apologies to Tom Hardy) Here's an explanation of chamber music.

First the nursery rhyme, folks.

Goosey Goosey Gander poem

Goosey Goosey Gander where shall I wander,
Upstairs, downstairs and in my lady's chamber
There I met an old man who wouldn't say his prayers,
I took him by the left leg and threw him down the stairs.

Origin can be found here:

@Letty,
Good afternoon. Letty, I know Merry Go Round Broke Down best by Daffy Duck. Very Happy
Noise doesn't come much politer than that chamber music you played.

@Letty,
Nursery Rhymes almost always have a not immediately apparent reason behind them.

I too salute Mexico. I hate it that they have been asked to partake of the festivities by watching it all on TV.

er, What stairs, Mooseman? Smile Thanks for Bob Seger's Against the Wind.

edgar, thanks for your comments. You always fill in the gaps. Had no idea that Tex did The Wayward Wind, Texas. I believe I like his version better than Gogi's.

Yes, You're right; The new Mexico ain't safe, and it's the old Mexico that they're celebrating (I hope)

Anyway, y'all. Here's Oscar doing a jazz salute to old blue eyes, and the lyrics as well.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Oto4x3LlAc&feature=related

It happened in Monterey, a long time ago
I met her in Monterey, in old Mexico
Stars and steel guitars and luscious lips, as red as wine
Broke somebody's heart and I'm afraid that it was mine

It happened in Monterey without thinking twice
I left her and threw away the key to paradise
My indiscreet heart longs for the sweetheart
That I left in old Monterey

It has been a rather trying day, both at work and home. At home, the electric has been out for long periods of time, while the wires get transferred to new poles. Seems they are at last ready to make the main road into double lanes, but the wires have to get out of the way first.
