@edgarblythe,
Great one by the Big Bopper, edgar. The only one I know by him is Chantilly Lace.

Here's a sweet one for wedding day on WA2K.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ko-mUTGegIE

And the lyrics:

Smile the while you kiss me sad adieu
When the clouds roll by, I'll come to you
Then the skies will seem more blue
Down in lovers lane,my dearie

wedding bells will ring so merrily
Every tear will be a memory
So wait and pray each night for me
Till we meet again

@edgarblythe,
Dear, dear Hank, edgar. He was more of a poet than a vocalist. My favorite of his is still, I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry. Yep, that one was sad, but maybe Jimmie will cheer us up.

My mom loved Jimmie.

I love Jimmy myself. Thought I would play another by The Big Bopper. He also wrote this song -

(I didn't understand his monologue, but I could the song)

@edgarblythe,
I didn't know that The Big Bopper wrote that one, edgar. I like it, buddy. Runnin' bear and little white dove. Great one.

Here's something a little different. Many folks think that this one is Danny Boy, but it is also Londonerry Air. The melodies are the same, but the lyrics different.

Let's listen, shall we?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjswuOjFYR8&feature=related

Londonderry Air
Lyrics
Would God I were the tender apple blossom
That floats and falls from off the twisted bough
To lie and faint within your silken bosom
Within your silken bosom as that does now.
Or would I were a little burnish'd apple
For you to pluck me, gliding by so cold
While sun and shade you robe of lawn will dapple
Your robe of lawn, and you hair's spun gold.
Yea, would to God I were among the roses
That lean to kiss you as you float between
While on the lowest branch a bud uncloses
A bud uncloses, to touch you, queen.
Nay, since you will not love, would I were growing
A happy daisy, in the garden path
That so your silver foot might press me going

Good morning, WA2K folks. Thanks again, edgar for the comments.

sometime sun, I couldn't get your videos to play. In other words, the sound was silent.Smile

Could no-one hear them?
They seem to play fine on my end.
Could it be I put to many songs on?
Any one know how I could strengthen the signal from my end or on Letty's?
How do I do what you guys do where it takes you to the youtube rather than my opening up a window like I do? Perhaps this would help the signal?

Thanks in advance

Is it just me or is there hardly any Bob Dylan or Cat Stevens available in youtube?

Anyone know of another musical source like youtube but not?

And maybe you could help me with something, I have been looking out for this certain song by Cat Steven forever that I don't know the name of, so I can get the album that it is on, because it was this album that gave me Cat in the first place, I don't know the name of it but what I can remember about the lyrics is it goes something like; "Oh mama, mama see me, mama mama see me on the T.V" something like that, anyone got any ideas?

I hope this works;

@Barry The Mod,
Couldn't have Dusty without this one, check out the hair, how utterly cool;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZWEEm6xZvU
Dusty Springfield, Son of a Preacher Man

and I always liked this song which has some real atmosphere;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZip7Y_IDqQ
Dusty Springfield and Pet Shop Boys, Scandal

And that song leads me to remember this one;

Queen, Scandal

@Rockhead,
I love this tune, I don't know what it is about it but I have always really felt like the cool cat listening to it, it seems the epitome of cool,
anyway it made me remember a bit of my childhood laughter, I always thought these fights were the funniest parts of the films.

Good morning, WA2K

First, allow me to help our sometime sun out.

Here's what I located about your Mama song, buddy.

http://www.metrolyrics.com/pop-star-lyrics-cat-stevens.html

Welcome back, mooseman. Always enjoy what you play on our radio.

sometime sun, I think the problem involved your having played too many songs.

Always enjoy Dusty. The Brit loves her and I enjoy listening as well.

Love Son of a Preacher Man, and Queen is always good to most of us here.

To me, anything from Peter Sellers is wonderful, especially those fake fights with Cato.

Cat Stevens' Morning has broken and Moonshadow are two of my favorites by the cat man.

edgar observed that finding Bob Dylan songs was quite difficult in today's world.

Hope all is well with s boy and entourage in London. Also hope that Ursula and her Swede have a safe journey home.

Here is an interesting song for today. I love the background instrumentation, but Lou Reed has a bit of a problem with his intonation.

Good morning. Hope all is well in radioland.
I have noticed more and more copyrighted material being removed from youtube. You can't find album material from Dylan, Judy Collins, Ray Charles and others. Often you can find other presentations from the artists, but in the case of Dylan, very little.

@Letty,
Letty I wish I could send you flowers,
what are your favourites?
I imagine daffodils or sunflowers, something bright and yellow and distinct that capture a room and make it theirs.
You have ended an 8 year yearning,
now I have the name of the song I can start looking for the album.
Thank you so very very very much.

I could not come up with any off the top to honour you so I went to the youtube and typed in "Letty" and got this one first which is actually a very lovely song and I think will do nicely, but the second I found and made me almost chuckle and there was a definite smile so had to put it up.

@sometime sun,
Ah, sometime sun. Believe it or not, I love wild orchids referred to in Virginia as lady slippers. It's always a pleasure to find something for someone. That's another feature of WA2K radio.

Letty and Ugly Betty are great. Those two songs made me smile. Thanks, buddy.

Here's a birthday boy that is singing the blues, y'all.

This song just popped into my head and had to share it.

I love Bluegrass and will put some on right now on my home system and see if I am not inspired.
