That's a fine tribute to Diego Rivera. Kate Bush is not one I recognize. Thanks for the tribute.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, KD Lang is fabulous in that Lemming Polka. What a talent. I had to smile at that one, Texas.

Raggedyaggie and I always smiled at that Kate Bush song.

Here's another guitar man, and today is his birthday.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I know that The West Side Story was an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. That musical production was great. Thanks for the introduction and the comments. Tonight, Tonight is one of my favorites from the old movie with Natalie Woods.

Wonder if this is the version of The Lion King that the Brits will be seeing this weekend.

I like that kind of music, letty. Don't know why I never watched The Lion King.
Henry Mancini, with one from his seeming endless stream of movie themes.

@edgarblythe,
Loved The Sunflower Seed, edgar. My word, I just realized that Sofia Loren was in Boy on a Dolphin.

Henry Mancini did the Pink Panther theme? I need to check out more than Moon River, I guess.

Well, here's a montage by Henry to the big band era.

@Barry The Mod,
Hey, Brit. Is Covent Garden anywhere near Berkely Square?

Ah, I loved That's What Friends Are For. Dione, Stevie, Elton. I listened twice.

Time for me to say goodnight and Nat is going to do it for me.

Mancini had a wide ranging talent.
Nat's Nightingale is one of his best, in my opinion.

Was reminded of a departed friend this evening who was the one who gave me Joan.
Hope it reaches.

I'm right on target
My aim is straight
So you're in love
I say
What of it
Things can change
There's always changes
And I wanna try
Some rearranging

Drop the pilot
Try my balloon
Drop the monkey
Smell my perfume
Drop the mahout
I'm the easy rider
Don't use your army
To fight a losing battle

Animal mineral physical spiritual
I'm the one you need
I'm the one you need

You're kissing cousins
There's no smoke
No flame
If you lose that pilot
I can fly your plane
If you want solid ground
Come on and try me
Or I can take you so high
That you're never gonna wanna
Come down

Drop the pilot
Try my balloon
Drop the monkey
Smell my perfume
Drop the mahout
I'm the easy rider
Don't use your army
To fight a losing battle

Animal mineral physical spiritual
I'm the one you need
I'm the one you need
I said
Animal mineral physical spiritual
I'm the one you need
I'm the one you need
I'm the one you need

I sit here by myself
And you know I love it
You know I don't want someone
To come pay a visit
I wanna be by myself
I came in this world alone
Me myself I

I want to go to China
And to see Japan
I'd like to sail the oceans
Before the seas run dry
I wanna go
By myself
I've just room enough for
One
Me myself I

I wanna be a big shot
And have ninety cars
I wanna have a boyfriend
And a girl
For laughs
But only on Saturday
Six days to be alone
With me myself I
Me myself and I
Just me myself I

Don't want to be the bad guy
Don't want to make a soul cry
It's not that I love myself
I just don't want company
Except
Me
Myself
I

Me myself ... and I
Just me myself I

Show some emotion
Put expression in your eyes
Light up
If you're feeling happy
But if it's bad
Then let those tears roll down

Some people hurting
Someone choking up inside
Some poor souls dying
Too proud to say
They got no place to lie
And there's people
If they hear a joke
Can keep the laugh
Out of their eye
I said
Show some emotion
Put expression in your eyes
Light up
If you're feeling happy
But if it's bad
Then let those tears roll down

Some people in love
But all they got's a photograph
How can they get it
Too scared
To open their mouth
To ask
I said
Show some emotion
Put expression in your eyes
Light up
If you're feeling happy
But if it's bad
Then let those tears roll down

Come on try
Learn to bleed
When you get a bad fall
Light up
Light up
Light up
If it's nice
But if it's bad
Then let those tears roll down

I may not be your best
You know good ones
Don't come by the score
If you've got something missing
I'll help you look
You can be sure
And if you want to be alone
Or someone to share a laugh
Whatever you want me to
All you got to do is ask

Thunder
Don't go under the sheets
Lightening
Under a tree
In the rain and snow
I'll be your fire inside
Come running to me
When things get out of hand
Running to me
When it's more than you can stand
I said I'm strong
Straight
Willing
To be a
Shelter
In a storm
Your willow oh willow
When the sun is out

A fight with your best girl
Prettiest thing you ever saw
You know I'll listen
Try to get a message to her
And if it's money you want
Or trouble halved
What ever you want me to
All you got to do is ask
I said I'm strong
Straight
Willing
To be a
Shelter in a storm
Your willow oh willow
When the sun is out

Oh the feeling
when you're reeling
you step lightly thinking you're number one
down to zero
with a word
leaving
for another one
now you walk with your feet
back on the ground
down to the ground
down to the ground
down to the ground
down to the ground

Brand new dandy
first class scene stealer
walks through the crowd
and takes your man
sends you rushing to the mirror
brush your eyebrows and say
there's more beauty in you
than anyone

Oh remember who walked the warm
sands beside you
moored to your heel
let the waves
come a rushing in
she'll take the worry
from your head
but then again
she put
trouble in your heart instead
then you'll fall
down to the ground
down to the ground

You'll know heartache
still more crying
when you're thinking of your
Mother's only son
take to your bed
you say there's peace in sleep
but
you'll dream of love instead
oh the heartache
you'll find
can bring more pain
than a blistering sun
but oh when you fall
oh when you fall
fall at my door...

In your eyes
I can see
Something
Something
So sure
In those eyes

As bright as the stars
As blue as the sky
I could die
In your eyes

In your eyes
I can see
Something
Something
So sure
And those eyes
Are not for hurting

You have the power
In those eyes
in your eyes

As bright as the stars
As blue as the sky
I could die
In your eyes

As bright as the stars
As blue as the sky
I could die
In your eyes

I just wanna see you at night
Don't come round my house in the day
I love it when we start up a fight
And I love it when the light ends your way

I love it when you call me names

I can't wait to see you again
I know you're gonna slap my face
You beat me up than beat me again
And over and over and over and over
And over and over

I love it when you call me names

Big woman
And a short short man
And he loves it
When she beats his brains out
He's pecked to death
And he loves the pain
And he loves it
When she calls him names

She's wearing heavy leather with lace
He dresses up in cowboy taste
They punish then they think of a crime
It's their way of loving not mine

I love it when you call me names

I am not in love
But I'm open to persuasion
East or West
Where's the best
For romancing
With a friend
I can smile
But with a lover
I could hold my head back
I could really laugh
Really laugh

Thank you...
You took me dancing
Cross the floor
Cheek to cheek
But with a lover
I could really move
Really move
I could really dance
Really dance
Really dance
Really dance
I could really move
Really move
Really move
Really move

Now I can feel the sun
In my eyes
And the rain on my face
Why can't I
Feel love

I can really love
Really love
Really love
Really love
Really love
Love love love love
Love love love love

Now I got all
The friends that I want
I may need more
But I shall just stick
To those that I have got
With friends I still feel
So insecure

Little darling I believe you could
Help me a lot
Just take my hand
And lead me where you will
No conversation
No wave goodnight
Just make love
With affection

Sing me another love song
But this time
With a little dedication
Sing it sing it
You know that's what I like
Once more with feeling
Give me love
Give me love
Give me love
Love...

Believe it or not I refined myself.

Hope you have a wide open enormous day.

All my best,
Letty

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I am stunned at all the songs that Mac has written. I know most of them, too. Those two songs that he did were great. Thanks, Texas.

Here's someone that I DON'T know but since today is his birthday, let's listen.

@edgarblythe,
That one by Paul was soooo great, edgar. Here's a new discovery by a great jazz vocalist who I just found.

Her answer to Paul, y'all.

A little info on the lady.

Meredith D'Ambrosio (b. 1941) is an American jazz singer born in Boston, Massachusetts.

D'Ambrosio was born into a musical family and studied piano and voice from age six. She studied at the Boston Museum School in 1958-59, pursuing a career in painting as well as music. She was offered the chance to tour with John Coltrane in Japan in 1966 but turned down the offer; her first major recordings came more than a decade later with her husband Eddie Higgins. She has released copiously on the label Sunnyside Records.
